Am I the only one who feels this? Now that I have a Goyard, I want nothing to do with Louis Vuitton as I see everyone else with it and you can buy them practically anywhere. Also, I'm a little turned off by Hermes because even they take part in e-commerce and have more advertisement/retail opportunity than Goyard, yet, they are seen as more "exclusive". I'm troubled!

Yesss, exactly my thoughts! When I purchased my first Goyard, I was still very much into LV, which faded away with the days. Nowadays I am even surprised I ever liked LV bags, everyone has one nowadays and I really don't find them that attractive anymore. There are waaaaaay to many styles, they should just stick to a core collection.

Goyard is chic, luxurious and mysterious, the best combination possible in my opinion!

I gotta say I still love LV for their SLG's and that will probably last, but for bags hell no! My Zippy wallet is an amazing investment and holds up great. But that wallet can hide in my Goyard, because she gets the spotlight! :p

I don't feel like once I have Goyard, my love for LV won't go away. I personally wish Goyard had more presence...exclusivity is not what I need in life.

I never understand why Goyard & LV are always mentioned together in the Goyard threads. I don't see any other brands that are always mentioned together.

For me, I like a variety of brands, styles, colours in my collection. I love my LV's, I've had some bags and SLG for years and they are like work horses, indestructible.
I'm not looking for exclusivity, I'm looking for bags I can use, looks good and wear well.

after I started buying Goyard and "H" , my interest for Vuitton and other brands definitely diminished. if I ever buy anything Vuitton, I just buy the limited edition stuff... those are the ones that holds their value!!!

Not to be offensive...but you're comparing a small brand to 2 brands that have established themselves in terms of marketing and size. Hermes isn't able to be bought everywhere and they're exclusive in terms of price in my opinion.
I mean sure, LV has their own mass produced bags as do Goyard.

But I do understand why people are moving away from LV, and Gucci too in my opinion, just too many people have them and it's annoying - at least to me. Not to mention, some customer service and lack of maintaining the good quality over the years is a huge turn off to me.

Though as someone who works in retail, have people really found a brand that they love now? Or do they love this new brand because of exclusivity - since Goyard really isn't as well known as LV/H. Did they really love the Louis Vuitton designs they purchased in the past? Or did they think LV and Hermes were exclusive and status symbols in the past, that's why they loved the brand?

When I was 16, I was very concern of status. I craze LV back then! Then at age 18 I didn't "love" LV anymore when I realized how saturated the brand is. By end of the 20 age...I started to begin to love LV again when I felt exclusivity didn't matter anymore when I realize the luxury industry is such a hypocrite itself! Wallah...I began to love LV again! This time is about details of print, color, TONS of style options, durability...not because of the status. Status, exclusive are just marketing ploy to get us to agree to spend the $$$$!

But what I do believe is certain product are truly exclusive. Most bags averagely sold are never to me are meant to be elusive, they were meant to be sold by quantities.
Haute couture is to me the absolute truest form of exclusive and truest form of luxury for one of the kind for that one person. Bags, perfume, ready-to-wear were meant to be known as "mass produce luxury".

I think the more styles there are, the better it is for the company and the consumer... It also makes it easier to have a bag that's different than someone elses'... My mother and I went to GOYARD when we last visited Paris... She didn't walk out with a single thing because she said none of them appealed to her, and that there weren't enough choices... We then went to Chanel and Hermes, were she bought PLENTY of bags.

Well it's my personal opinion, but I just prefer brands with core collections. Goyard to me offers a good range of styles, totes/handhelds/duffels/clutches/messengers etc. Hermes has a core collection as well and I find their range of different bags comparable to Goyards.
Another huge advantage to me is that Goyard does not just introduces a style. They put a lot of time in the design and they constantly redesign their styles to make them better. Less styles is more time per style to make them even better. :)

It doesn't have that effect on me. If anything it makes me appreciate the durability of LV more. Goyard is a nice change and they're both great for different reasons

I think not venturing into e-commerce has really helped keep Goyard exclusive! Though part of me wishes that I could shop online, I do really like the added mystery the brand maintains. It just all feels so luxe.

I just bought my first piece- a burgandy Senat. I would love to buy more but the styles are not totally functional for my lifestyle. Sticking with majority LV for now... I really wish there a Goyard compact wallet!
