Regarding my thoughts on this season- I had decided that Jardin a Sintra was way, way too similar to Jardins d'Hiver. HOWEVER- my store actually got them in and I was pleasantly surprised! The CWs are fresh and fun and all of a sudden I don't think that they are SO redundant with JdH.

I am on the UFO bandwagon as well. Can't wait to get that one, but like everyone else, I wish it came in a 70. I am still lamenting their resting!

Totally disappointed in the Pegase au Bloc scarf. I do not like the wallpaper effect at all.

Looking at a few others, but as always, it depends on how they tie. I was catching up on the thread and reading all of the funny comments about the "pirate" look. I do agree...and let's stop also showing pictures of the twillies around the beautiful, delicate necks! How about tied around a bag handle? :)

I'm an H newbie, so I don't have ANYTHING from Annie Fairve yet. So excited to hear Jardin a Sinatra looks even better IRL because I already saw one I love. [emoji3]

I have been traveling, and am hopelessly behind viewing this thread.
However, I stopped into NYC store today specifically to pick up the battery park scarf. And discovered they have started getting FW2017 scarves! None were on display, but when asked, they pulled things out of the drawers.
They had several CWs of the AF Jardin de Sinatra , the artist paintbox design, the riding crops design, and at least one CW of space ships beaming up H boxes. They also had one design that is a mashup of 2 designs. Not being a fan of mashups, didn't really look at it.
Here are a few pix. I did not buy any of these and did not get CWs as I was not really prepared for FW, and I am so banned because of recent shopping. ( bought another moussie today.

UFO might be a bit too weird for me to wear to work but in this format it can be a fun secret View attachment 3730490

What is the name of the top scarf shown and what is the name of the red and green one? thanks

Count me in as a disappointed scarf collector of how this beautiful, favorite GRAIL design has been completely overwhelmed by a very hideous floral stripe. The lovely calligraphic edges are swallowed up by the overlay, and it makes me heartsick of what was done to my favorite of all scarf designs. Then the colors have also magnified the problems even further. If it had been a subtle pattern, tone on tone, maybe it could have worked better. I was seriously aghast at what was done to this original design. Sorry to rant, but I just could not keep quiet any longer. So very very sad. I guess i have to treasure my 90 for a while longer. I really wanted a shawl in this pattern in its original design.
It looks a bit like wallpaper with the florid stripes. When H thinks of a gimmick, they exploit the dickens out of it.

Pegasus D'Hermes has always been a postmodern statement.

It is not a Classical typical depiction of Pegasus at all but infused with H-ironic wit and audacity. Renaissance Leonardo da Vinci type sketch that crosses his anatomical and mechanical sketches such like a kind of L'Uomo Vitruviano/Aerial Screw hybrid. We still have fragments of Renaissance wallpaper made with dipped woodcuts (hence bloc?). I find the design both historic and postmodern at once.

I loved the original Coup de Fouet but didn't fancy the en Bloc 140 version. Perhaps there would have been too much mono-colour for such a large scarf on both designs, and it is true wherever there's a large expanse of single-colour silk the creases always show more, annoyingly even during the same day. I'm certainly going to try it, for me more a Summer vibe with the flowers but lovely nevertheless.

On a personal note, my house (1700s) had the top floor sealed off, windows too, in the 1920s and when we first went back up to the first floor the original Victorian Arts and Craft (amazingly bright) wallpaper was intact and resplendent in the hallway. I was full of awe and demanded the example be preserved and put behind plexiglass forever. For me old wallpaper obviously doesn't have the same negative connotations as it may do for others.
I know that during the Victorian era aniline dyes were discovered. Here's an excerpt fro the Web:

www.woodmagazine.com › Wood and Supplies › Finishes and Finishing
In the 1850s, a British chemist accidentally produced a strong purple dye while working with aniline, a clear, oily, poisonous liquid. Subsequently, scientists synthesized other dye colors. These synthetic dyesdelivered the same sparkling colors as the natural ones and were lightfast to boot. They were cheaper, too.

Women wrote brighter (= rather garish) colors in response the dye discoveries.
Your house is from the 1700's? Wow. It must have a lot of character.
