My oh my, I'm falling for this cw every time I see it. I hope my store will have it very very soon! If I read it correctly, the cw will be 02 for 90cm silk, and 15 for CSGM, is that right?
Wow! That's a big price adjustment. (Better than Chanel who raised European prices to put things back in line with the U.S.) I'm really on the edge of my seat between the new arrivals, Price reduction, And my new store opening in a few weeks.
That's disappointing. The silks weren't $395 before the last price increase. If it's because of currency issues it should be across the board.
It's nice to have some witnesses to the decrease this time. I know I've stated here on TPF in the past that there was a decrease at least once (maybe twice) about 15 years ago and no one else seemed to remember it! [emoji322]
The decrease was in January/February 2001, the year Rencontre Oceane was first issued. 36 Silk Twills were $275.00 then decreased to $250.00 and GM Cashmeres were $750.00 then decreased to $650.00. Strong US Dollar. Prices for Handbags decreased as well. I bought my first Birkin, 35 CM Box Leather for $5,600.00 in 2003.
I understand the disappointment but $395 isn't confirmed, my SM spoke like they were going back to 2014 prices so I guess we'll have to see when the new price goes into effect.
I also think they're saying its currency fluctuations but personally I think the crossed a price threshold with consumers and sales plummeted so they're back pedaling. I know I'm not looking at 90cms at $500, I'd rather get a 140!
We are about to be reminded to get back on track, but Hermes profits were up 20% last year so I don't think it was because sales are down. I don't begrudge them a dime. I just hope they are able to keep the company going as is forever. They are truly unique in today's world.

Back on topic, I tried on the green Tyger GM to feel the cashmere - not much of a difference texture-wise, but it did seem a bit sturdier to me. This cw was a winner for me, but I've gotta track down sissy milano's Cavalleria d'Etriers first!
sales the first two quarters of THIS year were down or slow in several categories including silk which is when they increased prices. The scarf buyers are a much broader base then the core clientele who buys from all categories. there's a couple of threads on the financials of the brand elsewhere.
I believe the price of the Fall scarves is relevant to this thread but perhaps we should wait till someone buys one at the decreased price since we don't yet know how far back they are decreasing.

That pirate fold looks fantastic with the striped top! I just love the look of an H scarf with any sort of striped top, but the mix of this black, white, grey design with a grey-striped tee is smashing!
