I have just seen the bonkers Ugo Gattoni designed scarf in my local boutique. It is called Hippopolis 'horse city' and is a fantasy design of a classically inspired city with a massive marble horse sculpture in the middle forming part of the backbone of the city. Sounds crazy, looks crazy, is crazy but is also crazy gorgeous. The one I saw was a riot of pastel colours so not for me so I am waiting to see what other colours it arrives in.

Also saw Sieste au Paradis as featured slightly earlier in this thread and my first view of Collections Imperiales. This is a scarf that I was not expecting to like but, if you have any appreciation of oriental design, it is a feast for the eyes. The colourway I saw featured a mid-green with an orangy brick colour plus the outline of the pattern was picked out with gold ink. Not for me but the design merits very close scrutiny for its beauty.

I also saw an unbelievably lady-like recolouration of Paddock. Beige background, pink contrast hem (!) and the people's clothes and jockeys' silks picked out occasionally with great bright splashes of bold colour - quite a rainbow going on. Not a design that excites me but any racegoer should love it.

There was also one of the 70cm scarves which I haven't seen featured anywhere yet. It showed the Original Trocadero Jazz Band - I think you can just see a corner of this on one of the press day photos. I noticed that the silk was silk twill rather than the 'antique' sort that we have seen in 70s over recent years. In my view the silk twill takes the dye better and gives the design more of a sharper edge.

No pictures to share ( I am completely incompetent with cameras and phones) I'm afraid but will post the Hippopolis I choose ( almost a dead certainty now) as soon as I can. Still waiting to see Zenobie.

Thanks for the descriptions Les T
