The diamond fell out of my Tiffany E-Ring :( Advice please!

Honestly? I'd immediately tell them to keep it and refund me the entire purchase price plus any and all repair costs I have incurred. And I would take my business elsewhere.

For what you paid for that ring, it was not correctly made, and unless they remake it from scratch, it will keep happening over and over again.

So sorry this happened to you OP! I'm very very shocked that they didn't call you the second it happened! I hope it works out to your favour! I'd ask to get it reset at no cost to you, even in another setting! At least you'll still have that diamond... Let us know how it pans out! Good luck!!

Thats horrible! So wait was the stone loose or did it fall out? Was it loose before you had it steam cleaned? This really really surprises me because I've had nothing but excellent service with Tiffanys! I've had my ering (the T&Co ribbon ring)for almost four years now and felt like the diamond was loose once but they sent it to NY and it came back within two weeks. Plus, i believe repairs are free for life on their erings and bands so you shouldn't be charged for anything...so if you were i'd raise hell about that!!

And on the return front, i love tiffanys and all but I would do what makes you feel comfortable but keep in mind that this is NOT normal and there are tons of people like me that have had excellent service! :) But that in mind, I think the return time depends on the SA, I know I bought my mom pearl earrings and she didn't like the style I picked out but I didn't have time to take them in. I think I finally took it in more than 6 months later and they refunded me on my card without asking any questions...now that amazed me! :)

Hope it all works out for you and your gorgeous ring!

Thank you so much everyone for all of your support and suggestions!! I really appreciate it! My fiance & I met with our Tiffany store manager and they gave us several options:
1) Get a whole new ring altogether -different setting & different diamond
2) Set the original diamond into a new setting (same style or different)
3) Have original diamond re-set into original band (they recommended not to choose this option but it is there)

They said we can make the decision now or even 2 years from now, so there's no rush, as they want to "make it right." They said they're not positive but it looks as though the diamond was "set unevenly" and that's why it fell out during the cleaning (it wasn't loose or anything before and was just cleaned not too long before the cleaning where it fell out). I'm not sure what we should do...

I am so sorry this happened to you. I would choose option two.
