I always wished I bought the Stephen Sprouse line back in the 2000's, but I was in college and married with a toddler, so couldn't afford it. I used to own many Stephen Sprouse clothing items when I lived in NYC in the late 80's. I would shop at his boutique on Lafayette down in SoHo, and regret selling those items on eBay. God what I would give to have those clothes now. They're probably collectors items.

But I always wanted the LV Stephen Sprouse edition. He was one of my favorite designers. What I would give...

Not a bag but a dress. There was a beautiful cashmere knit Dior dress (blue/gray with a bit of gradient) that I tried on back in 2013 or 2014. It was $2000 USD, which today would be a bargain haha. Sadly, never saw it again, but I do think of it from time to time.

As for bags, it's more about being able to buy retail price vs pre-loved. Not saying I don't like pre-loved. I'm just not in agreement with the current resale market atm lol so I feel grateful/fortunate to be able to buy something in-stores when I want it.
If there was a bag "back then" that I could not afford (and wanted) but I have now, it would probably be my almost vintage chanel CF (because gold plated > not gold plated hdw lol). So since that's been checked off...hmm...I guess it's been fulfilled haha.:P
I too had a dress that I drooled over back in the 2000s. It was a pink bubble dress that was a part of Tom Fords last collection for Gucci. Not exactly a classic but some of my shirts cost more today than that cocktail dress did back then.

I totally missed out on the Sophia Coppola collab with LV. I was just too young and immature to appreciate the quality back then. Sigh.

I just got a trompe trocadero (well not exactly on my wish list but good subtitute and more affordable compared to velours clyde). It is lovely. No I hope to score the le fab to accompany it. :giggle:

Has anyone ever altered their LV bags? The ”double” chain strap… I would lovelove the bag as crossbody so I was thinking if I should take it to my gobbler for alteration to make the short double chain a single longer strap.

Not to quote myself here, but I wanted to update and say that I just purchased a graffiti pink Stephen Sprouse Neverfull GM on Fashionphile, and it arrives this Monday. I can't wait! I struggled with the decision, but decided to go for it since I could never purchase it when it came out. I'm so excited!
