As much as I love the butterfly (I would like to get it myself some day) I don't see it as an everyday piece. So I vote for the VCA Alahambra pendant with diamonds for everyday. It's very understated and chic and I love the simplicity.

I agree! That was my first pick of all of them... simple, stunning, iconic, wearable... it's perfect!! How much is it? I saw the 10 motif version on monday in person and it *** SPARKLES!!! *** Sooo pretty!!!

Re the butterfly - totally agree about the Mariah Carey thing... LOL... and the young thing... plus am not sure it qualifies as iconic the way the alhambra does?

The single motif alhambra pendant in WG/pave is $5600. A little more than the Boucheron Ava ($5200). I need to see it in person to be sure, but I also agree that it is quite lovely. I had the Ava on this week and it was so sparkley, but also a little boring

Hi All,
I am actively narrowing down...still

And now I have a new love to throw into the mix YG/Turquoise 10 motif necklace . I finally got to try it on in person and OMG it is gorgy. I think YG suits my complexion better. I had been so focussed on WG b/c I don't have anything in white gold that I stopped looking for something that looked good on me too. So silly.

Anyway, all you VCA experts out there am I being foolish? Turquoise over vintage alhambra WG/ pave single motif pendant? Tell me the truth; I need to hear it.

I personaly prefer YG over WG although I have few pieces in WG...
Since you narrowed them down and you say that YG suits you more I suggest that you get the turquoise ( my favourite stone ) and yes it is STUNNING...I've drooled over that Alhambra so many times..
It is a timeless/clssic from VCA. As for building a collection , I haven't seen earrings or ring in turquoise and YG, have you ?

HA! Yes I've managed to shock even myself... I'm an EASY sell when it comes to dresses (my weakness) but I've never bought anything but costume jewelry before - this is a first!! But I'm pretty decisive and good at convincing myself that I need things when it comes down to it! LOL! SO bad!!! I just had my little collection insured and almost threw up when I realized the total... then I ran out and ordered a safe (more like a chest) only to read the instructions and learn that jewelry should be stored in an air tight container inside the chest as the fire-proofing walls of the chest contain moisture - WTF? LOL - I'm way too lazy to go through all that so I'll just have to find a good hiding spot, but feel much better knowing it's covered.

I can't decide for you except to say that the turquoise is STUNNING too - the colour (as you saw in person!) is SO vibrant, unlike anything I've seen before really - it almost looks like someone must have made up that colour (rather than finding it in nature) it's so pretty, know what I mean? Either way it'll be GORGEOUS! Cannot wait to hear what you buy!!

I think I have seen mini YG/Turq earrings, but maybe I was hallucinating . But I also have not seen a ring. But I did try on and drool over the bracelet .

I love, love, love the turquoise and I think it suits me. Even my DH loved it on and he is a tough sell especially at these $. He was even lobbying for the 20 motif vintage alhambra YG/MOP instead, but it felt chokey on me when it was doubled up.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. I truly appreciate it.
