Thank you to all the TPFers who have been supporting me during my rollercoaster ride to choose the perfect present for my 10th wedding anniversary. :yahoo:I appreciate your help & support more than I can say !

If you have been tracking my other threads (thought it wise to combine) you already know that I am having a hard time narrowing down my options based on my criteria...I have been going in so many different directions and losing focus of what I truly want. I thought if I wrote it down it would be easier for me to stay on track...
This is what I want:
-A signature necklace
-A piece that fits into my lifestyle (working mom) & budget
-Something chic/elegant and comfortable
-Not too trendy--something to build out a collection with and eventually pass down to my DD
-Not too glam for everyday (signature piece) b/c I want to wear it, not store it in my drawer (which happens a lot with my other necklaces listed above)
-Something within my budget from an iconic design house (VCA, Bvlgari, Cartier, Boucheron, etc). At this point I have looked at pieces ranging from $3,500-$10,000 USD I am hoping to not go above $7K.

I tend to obsess about jewelry purchases.
1) Because I love, love, love jewelry
2) Because I save up these types of purchases i.e. I don't part with the money easily :blushing: so I want it to be the best that I can afford and something that I will wear & treasure. Keep in mind I only have two other necklaces that I would consider finer jewelry (gurhan 5 diamond yg & a strand of pearls from my Granny) so I think WG or Rose gold are the way to go...

Okay, now that you are caught up on my backstory I will give you one final recap of the current contenders. Tell me what you really think. I need you to be brutally honest here. Thanks in advance for your help and continued support.

See current short-list of contenders below. Please add something if you think I am missing something...
So far:
-VCA Alhambra single motif in WG/pave
-VCA Papillion WG/GMOP (with diamonds)
-VCA Frivole diamond/WG pendant
-VCA Socrate diamond WG/pendant
-VCA Fleurette diamond WG/pendant ( small size )
-I think I am missing one, but you get the drift (WG/diamond pendants are all underconsideration ).

-Boucheron Ava diamond pendant (teardrop shape).

-Bvlgari .5 CT diamond pendant (crown setting--although I think I am not that interested b/c I could have my jewelry do a single diamond easily and more economically).

That's it for now. Thanks again for your help...
-H.

You've got one seriously amazing dilemma. :cloud9:

I have got to say that I looked at everything you listed and fell in love with the papillon pendant. It's the butterfly, am I correct? If it is, I think it is an absolutely gorgeous piece; very unique without being "trendy". I think it would surely become your signature. It would also transition nicely from day to nighttime wear, IMO.

wow! good luck with your choice :smile1:

If you would like to be able to build a collection out of the necklace as you stated, I'd go for the single motif Alhambra or the Socrate necklaces as they have the matching pieces that you can purchase later on. I've seen and tried on the Frivole but to be honest, if you scratch it, you will see it quite clearly due to its design.

Here are some of the pictures (BIG thanks to Vancleef Fan b/c most of them I borrowed them from your posts...I hope that is OK - let me know if it isn't and I will remove)

-VCA Alhambra single motif in WG/pave --Lower left. I couldn't find a pic of the pendant, but you get the idea from the earrings just visualize one with a chain attached on left & right.

-VCA Papillion WG/GMOP (with diamonds) -- Bottom roll middle

-VCA Frivole diamond/WG pendant -- Upper left

-VCA Socrate diamond WG/pendant -- Upper right. I couldn't find a pic of the pendant, but you get the idea from the ring just visualize one flower with a chain attached on left & right.

-VCA Fleurette diamond WG/pendant ( small size ) -- I couldn't find a picture

-Boucheron Ava diamond pendant (teardrop shape) -- Lower right. I couldn't find a pic of the exact shape, but you get the idea (wondering if not special looking enough)

OOO... What about Flower lace? too blingy?

They are all gorgeous but Im not sure about the butterfly one. It seems to me to be more suitable for a younger person rather than a mature woman, and I understand that you want something to wear for a long time.

I think a single pendant is classic and versatile (day to evening, casual to dressy). My favorite is the VCA Socrate diamond WG/pendant. I think the butterfly is trendy (reminds me of Mariah Carey).

CoutureQueen,
I love that one too. It seems very dainty. I will need to try on to figure it out for sure :graucho:.

La Vanguardia,
I like where you are going with that. Truly a starter piece. And boy that would make future presents from DH much easier to identify. Win-Win for both of us.

As much as I love the butterfly (I would like to get it myself some day) I don't see it as an everyday piece. So I vote for the VCA Alahambra pendant with diamonds for everyday. It's very understated and chic and I love the simplicity.

SammyJoe,
I hadn't even thought of that. OMG I need to add it to my list now. Oh no more choices...

I just think when you are spending the sort of money VCA costs, it would be nice to get classic pieces that you can wear everyday if you choose and items you will not have to worry too much about, sort of like spreading the love :D
