ok, not sure if this is the right thread or not, but I love the tension mount, and want to have my engagement ring reset...problem....my diamond is pear shaped. I've seen tension mounts for pears, but they are mounted at the top and bottom. I want a straight band that will sit flush against my W ring..(if that makes sense)...Can I have my pear shape tension mounted by the sides?

You've waited so long. Save a bit more and go for the first guy! You trust him and you can be absolutely sure that he can create your dreamring. I'm looking forward to see you action pics in the future.

That's a good question. I would think you would probably not be able to do a east-west set because of the point. But depending how large the stone is probably a standard nort-south setting. But then you have the point exposed. Very exposed even...Can you consider having a custom solitaire made where there is a smooth "bridge" that holds the stone setting up higher?

Probably not the technical term...but it's the "crossbar" part that holds the head, here's a pic:

(this should not be allowed evidence of my graphic design skills. yes, I have been in the business for over a decade, but for the sake of this discussion, I did make this crappy and rudementary image.)
