I agree that the smallest round and oval chains are definitely best for small pendants at 18". The ribbon chain is the smallest I'd consider for a 32". These go on sale at Bloomingdales and Saks during Friends and Family sales in the spring around late March early April. It's usually 20-25% off. I think Bloomingdale's has an additional percent off if you sign up for their email list close to the time you want to buy. While I like DY chains, I don't think they are right for TSC at all. I don't think paperclip style is right for TSC pieces, either.

Here's the 32" TSC ribbon chain. Regular price is $3250 so take at least 20% off if you can wait for the sales in late March early April.

If you aren't going with a TSC chain, this are the one I would get below as they are more similar to TSC than RC or DY. The second one appears to be close to the ribbon chain in link size. The first one would have to be extended to 32" (or whatever length you want) which they will do. I actually had TSC extend my 32" chain to 34" because I am 5'6" and needed a little more length.

But bottom line, I'd really recommend the TSC ribbon chain when it's on sale. I think many of us considered going with less expensive chains but ultimately decided it was worth getting TSC for the overall aesthetic especially since they go on sale.

@DS2006, I think you grabbed the link for the TSC Extra Small Oval chain by mistake. The Ribbon chain is more expensive than the Extra Small, but as you noted, these are periodically available on sale. If of interest @opensesame here are links for the 32" Ribbon chain:

I am one of those to whom @DS2006 was referring, in terms of trying other brand chains that were less costly compared to TSC and turning back to TSC. I totally agree that TSC's chains are expensive but I do think that they are of high quality and really do complete or make the look. I do not own or have experience with the smallest link chains, but I can attest that the ribbon chain and larger link/gauge chains have a nice weight to them and are quite nice. I think that these chains also look great on their own, without pendants/charms, which can further reduce your cost per wear. :) I am not too familiar with Roberto Coin, but I recently tried on 1 of their larger pendants on a paperclip chain (I think it was the Venetian princess medallion charm) and I was surprised and disappointed by the chain. The look was fine but it was much lighter than I expected- maybe the links were hollow? No offense meant to any Roberto Coin fans!

I’m thinking about getting Temple long chain (small round 32) or Roberto Coin or David Yurman chain. Do you all think the chain’s brand should match the charms? I am not ready to drop 8k on the thicker Temple chain. My budget is around 4k. SA told me Roberto Coin has the best chain for the price (3K). Would love to hear what you all think.
About a year ago, I had the same thought pattern as you.

I had several TSC amulets and pendants but couldn’t bring myself to buying her chain. I bought a RC paper clip chain from Bloomie’s. About a week later, I exchanged it and paid the difference for a TSC chain. I think it was the beehive chain. After that, I bought an 18” ribbon chain.

There’s just something about her amulets/pendants paired with her chains.

What about F&F at Bloomie’s or Saks? I took advantage of the Bloomie’s promotions.

Oh my goodness, thank you for catching that! I have zero idea how I posted the wrong link unless I just had multiple pages open!

It was that picture that I clicked on and then after additional clicks, landed on the picture I previously attached. So pretty!

What’s the length of the Spiral chain?

It's 18" long. So gorgeous!! There's a matching bracelet, too. Both have gypsy set diamonds on the lobster clasps. I love that detail!

Thanks for posting the link. It’s beautiful on its own!

I think so, too! Would love to see both the necklace and bracelet in person. Wondering what the reverse side of each spiral looks like.

I ordered the heart from Nordstrom’s. Bloomie’s was offering 20% off but I had problems purchasing from them

Ooh, fun! Looking forward to seeing pics on arrival if you'd like to share. :flowers:
