Telfar shopping bag - thoughts?

Does anyone know if the small size will fit a 160z water bottle? Thinking of ordering one this Tuesday when the new security program starts, so any info would help, TIA!

I don’t think so - my mini Telfar will barely hold my iPhone 12 max horizontally, although it does fit without distorting the bag. I can’t imagine a 16 oz bottle fitting unless you stand it up and it sticks out the top. It’s a pretty small bag! Love it, but it is an essentials only bag for me. HTH. The bag security program is very cool - any bag you want!

Brandon Blackwood NY is doing a bag security program this weekend for his small ESR totes. They are a bit larger, but I don’t think a 16 oz would fit in it either, but it might. Measurement on his website. Good luck.

Ahh, I really wish there was an in-between size of the small and medium. The medium is probably too large for my current lifestyle as I have no reason to lug around a laptop during these times, but the small does look very tiny. Your response certainly helped, thank you!

In between would be a perfect size! Post 56 in this thread shows pics of my small and medium sizes for comparison - one with my phone sticking out to show how tiny the smallest is. I’m like you - my smaller bags are in heavier rotation these days. Happy to help- sorry the news wasn’t better.

Echoing @DrTr , the small size will not fit a 16 oz bottle without it sticking out. It’s still a fun and cute bag to have if you only need to carry small essentials.

I’ve attached photos of the bag with a 16 oz Voss bottle and an 11.2 oz Evian bottle for your consideration/comparison.

And yes, I also wish there was an in between size! HTH!






Note: Though a tight fit, the smaller bottle can lay flat if you position it well at the base of the bag.

They are great bags, and I use my medium especially on rainy days when I need to carry more. I’ve really become enamored of the small Brandon Blackwood ESR Tote, partly because the shoulder strap is removable. It’s also slightly bigger, so it holds more. If you try to carry the teeny Telfar as hand carry only, the shoulder straps almost fill the bag as they aren’t removable. Still love my 3, 2 small and 1 medium, and I’m Telfar satisfied now. And @sf_newyorker, thanks for the water bottle photos! I love everyone’s willingness to heLL each other here especially when we can’t try something in person!! So thanks to all

The Evian bottle comparison was definitely helpful! I only carry the essentials nowadays but since summer is quickly approaching, bringing a cold water bottle along shopping trips and running errands is a must. I'm probably leaning towards the medium afterall- but now need to decide among all the colors they offer!

Here a few pics - the bottle takes up maybe 1/3 of the bag, but it doesn’t stick out of the top!! That’s another thing I enjoy about you all - we can be just absolutely silly together, but we give real info too!

I have 2 small Telfar’s and one medium and love them, so I’m sitting this out. But can’t wait to see your! Ahem, I did buy 4!
