I have a technomarine Thoe Fennell watch with the Union Jack in pink and white diamonds. I bought it a couple of years ago knowing nothing about the brand. I just liked it. Here is a pic.

I'm revisiting this thread. I'm very torn deciding between a Technomarine Ceramic diamonds bezel and an entry level J12 which is the plain 33mm quartz. I'd love having bling on my watches and the price of J12 seems too high for a trendy watch. Still I'm quite torn between the two.

Hiere is my technomarine ceramique. This is the unisex version. Love the bracelet on this. It's not necessary a "fun" watch. It has 660 feet water resistance. This was an impluse buy, but I would never buy a diamond one. BTW, most watches are not "investment purchases." So get what you like. unless you can buy a Panny, Rolly or Patek,....

Hey Starbucksqueen, u seems to have quite a few watches!! I'm quite impressed by TM ceramic range too and am still deciding if I should get one or J12...

Hi Slip
Yeah, I am quite into watches.....it is tough. I spent a lot on the Technomarine, but the bracelet is exquisite, as I am sure is the case with the J12. It's just the J12 was even much more than the Technomarine. With all I have spent on watches, I could bought one 'status" piece, but I really like variety. So ask yourself how much you really, really want the J12. Is it because it is a Chanel, or you like the look? Same with the Technomarine.. In the case of my humble Swiss Legend, I got sucked in when it was on special and I had a coupon. It was also close to my birthday! and didn't think it would get as much wear since I live in a colder climate. Frankly, if you just like the look, I would see if I could get a Technomarine.....now on Sale at World of Watches--15 percent off. However, if owning something Chanel is more important and you have the $$$, then go for the Chanel.

My husband collects the higher end Technomarine watches. I really like their men's watches - and they are a larger brand in Europe than they are here in the States.

I am not a fan of the women's watches as much - I don't think they fit the wrist as well. My DH bought me the white ceramic last year w/diamonds and we returned it because it looke funny on my wrist. I have the black J12 and it is super comfortable.

So - to answer your question - I like Technomarine watches - I think they do fantastic men's watches - but, I think if you are female you really need to try one on before you buy just so you can see how it fits you.

Tourneau is a large stocking retailer of Technomarine.

Technomarine is not in anymore. I bought 2 black ceramic w diamond bezel msrp about $3300 each for like $900.00 each on clearance at bailey banks n biddle.. I sold one and kept one... It is a nice knock off of the channel j12 but thats all. A knock off.. Not going to make any money buying it..

actually, the J12 is the knock off of TM... TM came out with it loooong before chanel ever did.

i have the TM and i love it.. my bf bought it for me last yr as one of my xmas presents. i dont think it is in the same league as rolex... however i think the quality can be comparable to chanel. TM after all is a swiss watch and they specialize only in watches.. he bought it for $1800.. and for chanel ur basically buying the brand, also chanel does NOT specialize in watches. i would even say that TM is better made (craftsmanship wise) however, i still plan to buy a chanel one too down the road. anyways, heres a pic of mine!

Hi materialgurl, what's the size of your TM?? Looks great on you! And I didn't know that TM came up with ceramic watches earlier than Chanel. I know that Chanel introduced J12 in year 2000. The pioneer of ceramics watches probably is Rado but I hate their styles. However there's one gripe about J12 is that the date is on the small side and I can imagine myself squinting hard when I get older. Again back to the question, I'm still debating hard between a J12 and TM, sorry starbucksqueen, even though your advice's great but here's my logic:

TM ceramics diamonds - great value, great looks but no service support and warranty available in my country. My country didn't even have any retailers selling Technomarine watches. So the only way is online purchase.

Chanel - international brand, who can argue with that? But only my country's Chanel boutique stocks Chanel watches thus no discounts offered and I'm not willing to pay full retail price for a 'trendy' watch. Should I get from online retailers like Jomashop or even ebay??

Slip....did you see the Michele watches? They have ceramic as well. I really want to see you get that watch! (since I have to be good). Looks like World of Watches only shps to U.S. and Canada. I went and checked for you. Too bad! because they had great prices on the Technomarines.

Thanks, materialgurl. The watch sure looks great on you!!

Starbucksqueen, I've checked the specs on Michele and am not impressed at all. There's another tpfer, Hokaplan, she returned her Michele ceramic and I supported her decision. The Michele is way overpriced for a mineral glass watch and teeny weeny hardly visible diamonds. I'd rather get a TM or even a Swiss Legend Karamica. I think Swiss Legend is too identical to J12 which I don't feel good wearing it out. Anyway with the looming economy, I think I can hold out a while to see if my taste change again. Who knows, my initial infatuation for a ceramic watch may soon be over??

Hey guys!

I have been lusting after a ceramic watch for YEARS now. I was totally into Technomarine, simply because they pioneered the ceramic watch, and if I am not mistaken, they were the first to come out with COLOR CERAMIC??? ALSO....I love the fact that I can wear my diamond Technomarine watch to the beach, and in the water on vacation!!!! So, I have been debating over whether to get one, although down the line, I would love to get a J12. But in terms of the QUALITY of the watch.......Technomarine beats Chanel

I wear a white ceramic technomarine watch every day during the spring and summer. It's comfortable and gets many admiring looks in NYC even without the diamond bezel. Very reliable watch too, no scratches on the band. Have a Rolex, my technomarine in more reloable

What do you think of Technomarine watches? What is your impression on the brand? Is it considered a "cheap" watch? I found it on sale in some US websites. In my country it is expensive and quite popular but I do not know in different locations. I am curious but I plan of getting one.

Thank you in advance for your inputs.
