So sorry this happened. There are a few threads on google on cleaning nubuck if you feel confident. Any dry cleaners are certified in leather cleaning also.
If those don't work, possibly check out a bag spa. I believe there are few recommended on the forum.
As a former server, I can say for sure the cleaning bill will be more than she makes in a week. Kudos for not tearing her head off.
Best of luck!!

I'm sorry, I'm not a Gucci regular, but I accidentally stumbled upon this thread. I just hope you'll consider that the average hourly rate for a server is $4.94 per hour plus tips. And you never know how many family members they're supporting. We handbag lovers take an inherent risk when we carry designer handbags that are expensive to clean and repair. I assume the cost to clean this bag will be above and beyond the average cost of dry cleaning , let's say.

I think that statistic is incorrect. The waitress should be held accountable for this as well. Despite it being an accident, she still needs to take responsibility in this. That is my opinion.

As I do feel bad about the OP's beloved bag, I don't want to turn this into an argument. But, the statistic is correct. Here's some information from the United States Department of Labor:

"The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires payment of at least the Federal minimum wage to covered, nonexempt employees. An employer of a tipped employee is only required to pay $2.13 an hour in direct wages if that amount plus the tips received equals at least the Federal minimum wage, the employee retains all tips and the employee customarily and regularly receives more than $30 a month in tips. If an employee's tips combined with the employer's direct wages of at least $2.13 an hour do not equal the Federal minimum hourly wage, the employer must make up the difference."

Everybody has a bad day and makes a mistake. It would be sad if that seemingly small mistake had more dire consequences for someone less financially fortunate. I have several servers in my family and I know they struggle to make ends meet. Sometimes, they are left no tip at all for a variety of reasons.

I really hope that the OP's bag gets repaired. I'm considering a nubuc bag and this situation has made me reconsider.

This isn't turning into an argument. Perhaps it is because in Canada, where I live, the minimum wage is more than $10.00 and there's more programs that support these families. I'm a firm believer of taking responsibility for your actions whether they be big or small and insignificant and that somehow, there should be something done about this.

And besides, this waitress could be well off for all we know.
