I just found the possible flaw, I have 3 of the Tea Rose Dinky, 2 of them have the flaw 1 of the 2 have a different registration number, the other bag no flaw different registration number. Now I don't know if I should be concerned on this pink one from Newman Marcus.

Here's the serial/creed off my bag. I ordered online from Newman Marcus, it was fully wrapped and the bag was sealed like when you get from Coach. I hope this helps.

Yes, it does, thanks! Apparently someone at Coach didn't bother checking the spelling on the creeds. In most cases, misspelled words can indicate a fake, but all the style 86845 Tea Rose Dinkys so far with the "r" missing from "number" seem to be genuine.

Someone please send those folks at Coach a dictionary. :smartass:

Are they all the same style number? Earlier versions had different numbers. The one we were concerned with is the style 86845.

This is the other bag with the flaw in the creed, also has a different registration number.

That's because it's not the same style - COMPARE THE DETAILS AND PLACEMENT OF THE FLOWERS.. Like I suggested in my previous post, it's an earlier style and if you look deep in the inside pocket you might find a white tag with the actual style number. If you search these forums you'll find posts about BOTH styles, this one probably has a style number starting with a 3 and I think it was made in 2015.

You can ONLY compare bags with exactly the same style numbers, and what's stamped on that leather patch is NOT the actual Coach style number, it's a fake number that as I said in previous posts, Coach pulled out of their butts.

I posted it so you would know this style also had the problem. I bought this online from Coach.

The picture is helpful, apparently Coach has developed a habit of not checking the spelling details on some of their newer creed stamps, but because that "registration number" doesn't show the actual official Coach style number. Unfortunately we have no way of knowing what the REAL style number is, because it's not 20215 and the production codes wouldn't have just been "DK". Coach has used those made-up numbers for more than one style, someone mentioned a while back that different Rogue styles seemed to have the same made-up registration numbers too. Did you find the tag inside one of the pockets with the real style number and production codes? I'm guessing that it might be 38197.

You have to remember that when we authenticators save information or photos to help us tell if a Coach is real or counterfeit, the only practical way we can save them is by the actual official style number of the item. "Dinky Tea Rose" or "Tea Rose Dinky" has been used by Coach as a name for more than one Dinky style so to build any kind of valid database we need that actual number.

It might sound like nit-picking, but authenticating a Coach bag IS an exercise in nit-picking, it's the small details that can prove a bag is fake so those details are very important.

For instance, if you click on the first thumbnail in this post
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/answers-to-authenticity-questions.94198/page-106#post-31210302

you'll see a creed stamp with the same "registration number" as yours, but it has the "R" at the end of the word "number". But without knowing the correct numbers and production codes of either bag, we can't say anything else except "some did, some didn't". If we knew the style numbers and production codes of both bags we might be able to figure out when the mistake happened, if and when it was corrected, and what styles were affected and if they were all made in the same plant during the same time period,.Like I said, a LOT of nit-picking. But that's how bags are authenticated and how we build a database on those styles and possible red flags for future authentications.
