Friends - I am not ok. My fairly new (November 2022 purchase from South Coast Plaza) B25 in Porosus Croc GHW got one of the screws on the turn lock plaque tarnished…don’t even know what to say other than what now?! Will Hermes fix this for me?

She is on maternity leave so I have to go through general SA pool which is not my fav activity and was hoping to get some info from Hermes wizards of PurseBlog.I would imagine so; why don't you check with your SA?
Yes, Hermès will fix this for you, but it is not really worth repairing, in my opinion. Most standard Hermès hardware will inevitably tarnish. So many things cause the hardware to tarnish (keeping plastic protectors on, exposure to moisture, exposure to air, etc.); it will be a never-ending battle if you send your bag in for repair every time a piece of hardware tarnishes. Nonetheless, it is your bag, so you should do what makes sense for you.Friends - I am not ok. I am not sure about this one - none of my other B/Ks (23 bags in total) have this issue and they are spanning from 2016 to last month purchase. This is the only bag that has that one screw completely tarnished - I spoke to a few of my friends who are also avid Hermes owners and they said it has been a known issue in 2022/2023 bags that screws are getting tarnished right off the bat. I looked at some new K/B25 bags (circa 2022 or 2023) listed on Fashionphile and 80% of them have this same issue.Yes, Hermès will fix this for you, but it is not really worth repairing, in my opinion. A simple solution: instead of sending your bag in for repair, try using a jewelry polishing cloth to remove the tarnish. It is effective, cheap, and you will not have to part with your bag for an extended period of time. Moreover, it will put less strain on the leather than it would for Hermès to actually replace that screw.![]()

It might not be your fav activity but it would give you the most definitive answer. She is on maternity leave so I have to go through general SA pool which is not my fav activity and was hoping to get some info from Hermes wizards of PurseBlog

Love that you said pearled nail, that’s exactly right - I just didn’t think folks would know if I wrote that. I’ll take it in, again just wanted to tap into the community knowledge/tips before I go into the battleIf it were any other product other than Hermes and you were dissatisfied with something,
wouldn't you just take it back?
So do that.
All this about your SA being on maternity leave is ridiculous; she might not even return.
It will not make any difference as to how Hermes will deal with your problem -
nor will 'info from wizards of PurseBlog' and the advice you get might be wrong for some reason.
just as an authenticator would know it is not a screw but a pearled nail
If you have purchased 23 bags I wouldn't expect a battle..rather I would expect exceptional customer service. Good luck!Love that you said pearled nail, that’s exactly right - I just didn’t think folks would know if I wrote that. They are not all Hermes store purchases - majority came from Fashionphile, only a few from Hermes. I don’t know about others but I have such disdain for the game playing by stores - no energy or time for that. Again love the brand to pieces, don’t like the SAs and trying to be friend with them…if it’s organic ok, but the whole pretend play while blowing through $$$ of my money - um, really not my favorite. Speaking of which, here are my two latest babies from FP - K25 Ostrich and B25 Porous (just got her yesterday!!! ).If you have purchased 23 bags I wouldn't expect a battle..rather I would expect exceptional customer service. But you mention you purchased this bag direct from the boutique? They are not all Hermes store purchases - majority came from Fashionphile, only a few from Hermes. Yes the one with the issue came from South Coast Plaza. No other bags have any issues - FP or SCP originated, they are all perfect (no tarnishing). But you mention you purchased this bag direct from the boutique?
This is not an inexpensive bag so therefore wether you have purchased all your bags from the boutique is irrelevant we are referring to the bag with the issue.
Therefore it is only right that they help you to fix it .
good luck
