To add: You don't need vast numbers of megapixels to do a great job. I've had fine results in the 2-6 megapixel camera range. It's more about technique and patience to take and then retake as nec., to work with the available light.

I found natural sunlight to be better than any lamps at my house.

Thank you! I did use a point and shoot, on tweaked settings ... so it's doable!

What settings did you or do you sometimes tweak?

Thank you! If I recall, I think I just played with some of the Sony settings re resolution and saturation. I honestly don't remember. Didn't do much in Photoshop (I'm not that skilled with it) other than occasionally a tiny bit of sharpening and cleaning up dust. We also had to do certain things to the photos in pre-press in terms of making them CMYK instead of RGB, maximizing pixel size, etc.
