Switching SA in the same store

Honestly 3.5k and 4 months is really really early in Hermes world these days. A more reasonable expectation would be $10k.
This is so helpful to know - thank you! A friend in a different city has been getting multiple bag offers with less than $1k spend, but then again, she's in Vegas, and I hear it's a bit of a different system over there. Either way, between hearing that, and then seeing stories of people being offered bags so early, it had me wondering if I was the exception and if this was a bad sign on my end!

Have you shared what bags you’re hoping to get? To me, getting offers is not the goal, it’s getting what you want.

I have! I have only asked for one bag, so now that I think about it, it's also possible that my SA is not going to randomly offer me bags that I haven't expressed interest in.
Edit: As you can tell from reading my participation in this thread, I overthink all of this so much!

If you have interest in more than the one bag, certainly let your SA know that.

For example, I don’t ask for Cs, I’m not interested in purchasing them, so I don’t get offered them. If I did, I would just have to turn them down and that isn’t fun for anyone. If someday I change my mind I’d certainly let my SA know.

Good luck!

This statement sounds unlikely IMO, unless there are other mitigating factors. I agree with @acrowcounted (though I would say 2X would be more accurate than 1X). A 3.5K spend over 4 months might not register yet unless there are other circumstances. By not really register, I mean that rate of spend might take a year to get a bag. . . And, an SA may also prefer to wait to see if a client has staying power or is the kind to stop shopping once a QB is offered. Others have differing views, including the No prespend opinion, so this is simply my opinion based on my own experience at a competitive US Maison. I also shop regularly at FSH where no prespend is required. You are always free to work with any SA you like, but I don’t think another SA will behave differently. JMO of course and YMMV.

Yes, this makes sense! To clarify, I've asked for a Picotin, and haven't mentioned a quota bag yet because I know I am probably quite far away from that one.
The friend in Vegas actually was able to get me a Picotin from her SA and has gotten one for herself as well, along with another bag over, but she was also introduced by a longer term client, so maybe that helps!
Either way, it is helpful to know that my circumstances are totally normal. It's easy to get caught in the comparison trap when you hear of other stories, or see people on Reddit posting that they got offered quota bags with less than 5k spend. I'm guessing that these are probably the more unlikely scenarios, rather than the norm!

IMO, it is possible that your friend benefitted by riding on another client’s coattails, with the possible implication being that she would be a similarly situated client going forward. It is also possible that a new customer deemed to be a high net worth prospective client may be given a certain amount of leeway. But, to get back to topic, I’m not sure what you can expect of your SA ( or a new switch) at this early stage. You might want to check out the local shopping thread that pertains to your situation or BK prespend thread. Of course, top of mind should be that the final decision remains with the SM, not the SA, and if more senior clients have not gotten their bags, you may have longer to wait.

Thank you all for your recent help and feedback! I paid a visit to my SA recently and felt like things are going well.
That said, I’ve been working with them for about 4 months now with probably 3.5k spend (estimating). I realize that in Hermes world, this isn’t a ton, but I’m wondering if it’s a bad sign that I haven’t received any bag offers at all in this time. Is this unusual, or a sign that my SA may not be great at getting me bags going forward? Would you switch in this position, or keep riding it out with the SA you’ve been working with? It’s hard to gauge what is normal without any other frame of reference!
I think….u really should chill. Coz realistically speaking, there r many many customers who would spend $3.5k in 1 visit. Not trying to put you down but that’s the fact.

Additionally, spending on what bag you want…I had been shopping at a store for 3 years and 3 quota bags to date, no mini Evelyn offer (not particular about any colour and I am absolutely sure that store has offered mini Evelyn to other customers), 8 months wait for a lindy 26, most recently maybe 6 months wait for a mini lindy…to this point, I even done an SO already….Go figure.

Hmmm…please don’t compare because what happened to your friend is not the norm. I’ve had multiple offers with low buy in a tourist city as well. So, such encounters definitely doesn’t happen often. I’ve had more encounters that doesn’t result in anything than that 1 particular experience.

I definitely recognize that 3.5k spend is not a lot in the Hermes world. Just to clarify/reiterate, I'm definitely not feeling as though I'm entitled to a bag after spending that much (or any amount, really), but wanted to know if my experience was normal or not given other experiences I see and hear about. If this was looking like a "bad sign" for me, I'd want to know and maybe move on, or change my approach! If this is normal, that's totally fine too, and is actually encouraging to hear. I think the advice not to compare is great, and I also think it's most helpful for me to hear from you all that this is actually a very typical situation.

Don’t get caught up in what others are doing. All that leads to is being let down imo. Buy what you love, say no to what you don’t, be courteous with your SA and have fun!! Personally I do not play the Hermes game for a quota bag or a bag in general. I know the secondary market isn’t for everyone but Ive always just bought what I wanted that way and I buy what I love and find interesting at Hermes vs buying with the intent of a quota bag or something “rare” just because. Its easy to get caught up in. My advice is stop reading online. There is no playbook. Imo unless you have $$$$$$ to spend you cannot compete with majority of the upper clients getting offers left and right. I know I can’t. So I bought exactly what I wanted outside the boutique and now I can just enjoy Hermes because I love Hermes! No “goals” in sight for me personally. What falls into my lap will! I promise it’s much more enjoyable this way

It honestly sounds like a relief to come at it from this perspective! Since my friend was able to get me a Picotin very recently, I already feel a bit of a sense of relief in knowing that there isn't another immediate "goal" I'm working towards. I really appreciate your take and this advice!
