I just wanted to do a little update...I told my DH to hold on to the earrings until Vday because I felt I had already been spoiled too much at Christmas! I decided to keep the regular backs as well as the basket setting. I feel the 1 ctw is perfect for everyday wear and have been happily wearing them all the time! Thanks again for all your help!

I think the basket setting is a very nice classic look! I like the martini settings also, but I know some people have had trouble with them actually going into the piercing because they like their earrings snug.
If you don't like the screw backs, you can also get the Jumbo butterfly backs.

I wear 3 prong martini with pushbacks. Never had a problem with losing 1 of them.. I did read however that the traditional martini may cause ear hole expansion and may ask my jeweler for a modification.

I read that about the martini too. Since my ear holes are pretty small I didn't want to make them larger with either the martini or the screw back, plus I thought I would experience some discomfort.
