You're not alone! I use a spreadsheet, too. I like your cost per wear calculation, that's something I'd like to adopt from your spreadsheet. Thanks for sharing! I used my spreadsheet to track how many times I carried each bag in 2014 and to identify my least used bags. I am actively editing my collection and recently sent a few bags to yoogi's and the rest of my least used bags to a local consignment shop. Thanks for the thread and great discussion.

I started doing this in 2015. But not to compute cost per wear, just to keep track of how many times I use my bags in a year. At the end of the year, I'll get rid of those I don't use frequently (or don't use at all).

So I was talking to a friend today and the topic of my excel spreadsheet came up. My friend was really shocked and began to tell me how abnormal it is. To me it seems pretty logical and helps me plan and justify my purchases. I have an excel spread sheet that lists each bag I have purchased, the price I paid for it, the RRP, the savings I made, the colour, type and then I update it each time I use the bag so that it works out my cost per wear. It shows me that I make use out of my bags and then if I'm not, I can choose to sell it and purchase something else that I will make use of. Please be honest, is it really crazy of me? I like to know what I have and this is my way of keeping it organised. XView attachment 2841175

Precious_UK, I think what you are doing is amazing. I like your idea. Although it might not work with everyone, but personally I like it.

Thank you! I feel really accomplished when I see a bag drop in its cost per wear but I'm yet to have something make it in to the negative numbers. I've kept up with it and finding it really useful x

Yep, I have a spreadsheet too to track colours, styles and the number of times the bags are worn. I hadn't thought to include the price I paid so that I can work out the cost per wear...I'll add this now!

I don't have a spreadsheet but I made a list in my iphone notepad of all of my purses, color, hardware, size, strap optionality & material so if something ever catches my eye while I'm out and about, I have a quick reference to determine whether I already own a similar bag.

It's definitely helped me cut down dramatically on frivolous purchases!

I have recently done this too, I love a spreadsheet! The only columns I don't have are the costs per wear, but I may need to add this. I also have a column with the serial numbers incase God forbid they got stolen.

Not sure I missed this thread...We must be sisters! I also add my wishlist to the spreadsheet with the estimated price (darn those price increases)! I have to 100% sure (ok 75%) to make the purchase.

You're not crazy at all! I have a big spreadsheet that records prices, colourways, savings etc of all my designer pieces. I like to be able to look back and compare the prices I paid for different things, and it's particularly relevant now with all of the crazy designer price increases. It's especially good if you ever intend to sell pieces in the future to make way for something new (so you know how much you will be losing or gaining when you set a price).

I also have lists of books I've read, books I want to read, countries I've travelled to, countries I want to travel to... lists help some people (like me) organise their thoughts. The people who've said negative things to you just obviously aren't organised list people! :smile1:
