Hi
I need a black shoulder/crossbody bag for everyday and cannot decide which bag I should choose. The most important thing for me is that it should be durable and that I should not baby it and be afraid of scratches, wrinkles etc.
I LOVE the design of the loulou in small, lou camera bag and even the college but I am worried that it will getting creases (I've seen really bad creases in the preloved market). So now I'm leaning towards the sunset and kate but I've heard that the sunset is heavy and I only like kate in the croc version which I think is too dressed up for everyday wear. I don't have any ysl store near me so I will purchase it from the website. This will be my first ysl bag but I have the cardholder which I love and it is so durable. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts? It doesn't have to be one of the bags that I've listed here.

It doesn't have as clean lines as the bags you mentioned above, but my small matte leather Loulou Puffer (storm color) has been amazing! Easy and lightweight to wear, both shoulder and crossbody. I don't throw my bags around, but I by no means baby the bag. I don't worry a bit when I wear it. No corner wear or any wear that I can detect after wearing it daily for 1-2 months now. I love it!

I double this suggestion! I’ve been using my small puffer in black on black as my everyday carry EDC to work and am loving all that it can hold. Plus it’s so buttery soft and squishy! 734A56CF-B102-45BF-9C44-B0712E2C6FDB.jpeg

I’m going with the College Medium black on black. It will be my first luxury bag, and probably my only one for a few more years. I’m hoping I’m making the right decision!
I also have a college in gold. In my opinion it is a good bag but can’t fit much because there are compartments inside the bag. I used it for good 2 months and it’s been sitting in my purse shelf for years. I would recommend to got to store and try them on. Some bags look great online but you might not like it in person.

I was in the same boat as you! I've been looking for a black everyday bag that I dress up or down, take to dinners or events, and even travel with (I'm not one to have a bunch of purses so I like versatile bags to get the most use out of what I have). I originally was between the medium college and medium envelope. The department stores near me don't have a wide variety of colors and the closest boutique is about an hour and a half a way so I couldn't check them out in person.

I actually ordered a medium college off ReBag but once I got it, it felt a touch too casual. My wardrobe is mostly neutral and pretty simple yet put-together, and while the college was beautiful and edgy and matched my more simple style, I wanted something that would elevate outfits and stand out just a bit more, along with having a little more structure. I ended up returning the college and almost bit the bullet on the medium envelope even though I wasn't fully sold on it, until I came across the medium sunset...
There's been so much feedback about the triangular flap of the envelope wearing at the corner so I like that the flap of the sunset goes straight-across. The triquilt of the envelope is gorgeous but opposite of the college, the pattern and slimness of the bag made it seem more delicate just a touch too much for everyday to me.

Anyways, I ended up ordering the croc embossed sunset with gold hardware. While like you, I'm a bit concerned about the weight, I don't carry much with me every day anyways (phone, YSL card holder, AirPods, key fob, gloss, mini hand lotion, and mini sanitizer) and unless I'm out and about touring a city or something, I don't wear my bags throughout the entire day, hours on end. Its width is a bit thicker than the envelope so to me it seemed a bit more 'sturdy-looking' for day-to-day and I like that it's easily able to stand up on its own. I went with mock croc for the edginess and the additional durability. Haven't seen any reviews commenting on terrible wear and tear/creasing on the mock croc. I know some people consider the sunset (esp in mock croc) to be more of a formal bag, but my style is more toned-down so I feel comfortable the bag as my accessory. It comes tomorrow morning and I haven't felt a single tinge of buyer's remorse compared to the doubt I felt after I ordered the college, so the sunset gets a vote from me! (Sorry this is quite long! I was incredibly indecisive and hoping my experience with the process of narrowing down a bag can help someone out!)
