My memory isn't good enough to hide things around the house. My mom used to do this with paperwork, and when we were emptying out her house we found a $100k bond tucked in a scarf drawer between scarves.
When my house was broken into, I realized there is no safer place than a safe. They've searched everywhere and turned everything upside down and inside out. Luckily, we were moving at that time and had not brought anything valuable to the house yet, so they left almost empty handed.
We invested a safe. We placed it at my husband's mini office at home. All jewellery, certificates and titles are all there. Even important documents are safe. Luckily, we haven't experienced any break in yet and hopefully, guards within the village is doing their job properly.
