My husband surprised me with a new engagement ring for our anniversary!
My old one is also an emerald cut.
This is a 3.01 carat / Color G / Clarity VS2

Cannot figure out how to make photos bigger! Sorry!

I love emerald cuts, especially in the larger sizes.;) Congratulations on your new ring.

I just wanted to offer one other possibility--if you wanted just a little complimentary sparkle on the band of the solitaire you could set it with two tapered baguettes of an unobtrusive size. They provide just a little compliment to the plain band (imo) and their cut doesn't complete with the cut of the emerald center stone.

I know the tapered baguette is not as popular as micro-pave these days, but I think it's still an enduring simple style. I love the trapezoids too, and the idea of two smaller emerald-cuts. But both of these are a bigger look than tapered baguettes.

Whatever you decide, I hope you post pictures of your new ring.:D

^^ Nice to hear someone still likes those too. To be honest, I had been leaning towards three emerald cuts (two smaller side stones) or trapezoids too. But when I actually saw an emerald cut with two nice unobtrusive tapered baguettes, it actually still looked very elegant to me--not dated at all.

kimber418- That is a beautiful ring, btw.

-That is my favorite way to set an emerald cut as well. Other than a plain band.
