Is it just me or do many of this season's designs contain a lot of white?
It isn’t just you. There is a lot of white. A pity, because I already have a few scarves with a white focus.
Not you. I have noticed also. And white doesn't always work for me plus as @laurenad said, I am pretty set with the white/cream silks I have already...
One of the fashion street-style trends recently is wearing vintage silk scarves. Hence, increased how-to scarf vids lately on SM.
A lot of the vintage scarves are traditional looking and predominantly on a white (or near-white) background no matter which cw. Years ago white silk, white cotton and pearls were all thought to enhance one's complexion and make the skin glow. H seems be channelling some of that trend-awareness into its scarves recently, hence more pastels, polka dots, cuteness and classic white/light backgrounds this season.
Thank you for this analysis, Papertiger. There does seem to be a powerful amount of all those features and a whole lotta cuteness going on!
Scarf mail today (waiting at Fed Ex since Wednesday) Le Premier Chant in Violet/Bleu Glacier/Jaune. Cross posted to SOTD with assorted “wild things” animals, plants and berries. While no ribbon tied around on my orange box, I did get the holiday packaging which is quite fun! Love that both designers have signed the piece.
