I am planning to get my SO the Mysterious Rider 45. I know this isn't a big purchase for people here, but I'm on a grad student budget so have to think it through a bit! It will be his first H item and his first nice pocket square. I'm debating which CW to give him and would like an opinion! The Gris/Rouge CW06 is more wearable (especially because he doesn't have a large collection), but maybe it's less special. The Marine/Jaune CW07 is obviously more fun and it isn't like he would have to show the yellow. He's early 30's with a tech job so doesn't wear suits often, but always wears pocket squares when he does. It's basically just weddings and going out to the ballet etc. Suits are grey, not navy. Or maybe I should just splurge and get both? Help, please!
I have the Mysterious Rider in gris/rouge to use as a 45, so a bit biased. I think either would look good with grey suits, so to me the difference is the accent color. Thanks for the reply (and the bias)! I don't think I've ever seen him wear yellow, so I guess that and your choice sways to the gris/rouge.
The artist has a 'surprise pack' of prints, so I'm going to get those as well.
I wish I had the budget for the pétrole/naturel/orange CW02 CSGM (and that he wore scarves!) because it's stunning.
I would get the blue with the yellow hem as I think it elevates a grey suit to the "next level". The grey/rouge is a very safe, classic and conventional choice you can't go wrong with, of course. I think it depends on your guy's style and confidence/desire to express himself a bit differently from others at "conventional" functions such as weddings & the ballet. My DH wears Hermes scarf ties to the opera with otherwise conventional dark grey suits and white dress shirts and he often receives spontaneous compliments from men (!) and women on his choices.I am planning to get my SO the Mysterious Rider 45. Georgeous. I got the same cw and just wore it yesterday (and the day before that).

I have the navy/yellow... It is basically used by my wife and DDs for hair accessories! SHHHHHH. Don't tell anyone!
It is far too hot in Australia to wear jackets (IMHO) so I don't use it for a pocket square - I use it as a scarf for me and a "fat twilly" for the girls!
