Splurge on 1 x Grandma Chanel or 2-3 less ‘vanilla’ bags? Thoughts?

Yes I did try it on recently and the medium is the right size.
I’d made my mind up for the caviar but when I felt them the lamb felt so much more luxurious. I already have a woc in caviar so the lamb probably. A while ago I had a fake one which was more like caviar and on seeing the genuine article in caviar it felt like my fake one. I guess that’s why I’m drawn to the lamb and I prefer the shinier look.
You’ve settled my mind to get one or the other though as I would still want it even if I got other bags. I think the best thing to do is get it, THEN get the other bags as and when (and IF) I can afford them LOL

If the Chanel is inevitable, it's better to get it now at current pricing and trendy pieces later. One thing I do for fun is a Rent the Runway Unlimited subscription and they have fun trendy bags on there. My daily bag is usually my LV LockMe Go tote in black leather but I sometimes rent trendy colorful Yuzefi bags for fun.

Yes you’re totally right, I know myself and would still be lusting after this bag if I don’t get it. Plus it’s a case of now or never - it’s already a huge splurge and the way the price keeps increasing it will soon become unviable (if it isn’t really already ha ha).

I do intend to use it even though I’m planning on the lamb. I saw both the caviar and lamb recently and the caviar felt really plastic and not the luxury feel you’d hope for at this price. My WOC is caviar and I love it but for the flap I think the lamb. Sorry not trying to start a discussion on this as I know there’s already plenty of threads on this subject.

I guess having read the bags we don't get thread I was worried about the grandma aspect which many posters had mentioned and whilst I am still relatively young I deffo don’t want to make myself appear older LOL.

I was worried about lambskin and started buying Chanels that were caviar, patent, calf - anything but lamb. Eventually, I realized that if you treat you bags halfway decently, lamb is perfectly suitable for a handbag. I ended up selling all my non lamb C bags and even replacing a couple with lamb versions. Get what you love and treat it well. Life is too short not to enjoy luxe bags in their best element.

Definitely go for the Chanel since you have wanted it a long time and you have the opportunity to get it now! It won't get any cheaper, just more expensive if you wait. I guess just make sure you want it because you love it, and not because it's popular or a status symbol (I'm only saying this because of the "grandma" and "vanilla" comments).
