Super cute! But I hate the straps. I would prefer canvas or even better, the vachetta leather strap.
I genuinely hope that Vuitton will not redesign all Speedy Bs to be like this zipper-wise.
I don’t think it would an “improvement” at all on the larger bags but wouldn’t you think that it would improve access to the interior with the smaller bags? (25 and smaller). Just curious on your opinion.
I agree. The material straps aren’t my favorite either but at least they are detachable. I have plenty of other LV straps that I would mix and match anyways.
Yes, on very small bags it is not a bad idea, but it does move the stress points of the strap connection down to the middle of the side panel, which wouldn't be ideal on larger bag. And it is moving further away from the classic design. They tried this first on the Épi and Empreinte Speedy bags, which decision I didn't like but understood, since the original Épi Speedy zipper was very difficult to deal with.
That looks like the same strap I have on my Twist - if so, it’s too short for crossbody which is a bummer.
This is good to keep in mind thank you Bull. Do you think this design will work ok on the speedy 20, esp in canvas, with regular use? I'm very tempted by this bag even though I can only imagine how much extra we'll be paying for a removable fabric strap.
It is a bigger opening than on a regular Speedy, but since the zipper is not a single line, but is bent 2 times, it will be a more difficult to fully open-close, and will add more stress on the structure too. As far as I remember, it didn't save the Épi Speedy from getting wrinkles. But the canvas will be more forgiving.
The fabric straps look very nice and nicely made, but they scream 'current season'. They will look funny in 2 years.
