i have a new one. Zipper is hard to use compare to my speedy B 30 in DE. I love having outside opening during the travel so i can keep my passport and a boarding pass. I found it so useful.
I definitely prefer the new model. I've had my new model empreinte speedy b since August 2016 and I've had no issues with the gold lettering flaking off. It still looks perfect. In fact, the entire bag still looks practically new, even though I chose a rather light color (mastic, which is a nude/taupe shade with a hint of lavender). It has aged extremely well with minimal softening/slouching. Also, the new model is more lightweight than the old model, and the front slip pocket is extremely useful. I can't tell you how many times I've wished my other bags had an outer slip pocket for my phone. Last, but not least, the new model doesn't appear to have the melted glazing issues that plagued the old model.
+1 I love my old model speedy, I tried the new one and it felt thin and the lining inside is not attached so feels loose and flimsy, the strap too long to wear on the shoulder and the gold hardware wore through to silver where the clasp rubs within a few weeks. I've heard people that have had it the front pocket stretches out. The gold hardware on my om is still bright gold and I use an organiser in it so the embossing has not stretched out
Definitely old model, I have one in Cerise color, beautiful red! I love all the little details on this OM bag, 4 feet, higher quality, brighter hardware, strap can wear different ways, and particularly I love the “LV” embossing all around the bag, it feels more upscale. And I agree that if you use the organizer inside, you can keep the shape for a long time.
I don't hate the OM but I do very much prefer the NM. I've never touched or seen an OM in person, but from what I've read around and seen, the leather is more heavier and it gets really saggy over time. Also there appears to have been an issue with the glazing as well as the embossed leather wearing off towards the top of the bag (which they seem to have fixed in the NM by shifting the empreinte leather down a bit as opposed to all over).
I like the NM much more as it seems to be more structured and holds its shape better, and also the overall look of it. I feel like it looks more modern. I'm a fan of the secret front pocket and I didn't really like the look of old zipper pulls and I hate the sagging look.
The only thing I wish they had kept on the NM is the feet and 3 part strap!

This was one of the concerns that I had. I don't see how they could "fix" it, as I don't see a way to stamp over the top of it easily. If you live near a store, I would take it in and see what they say.I love the new one because its lighter and front pocket is so handy. I did notice the gold lettering is flaking off on top (above pocket) and on clochette(more flaking off) , is it a known issue? Will LV be able to fix it? Thank you for any help

I’m considering speedy om late 2012 on brand new condition and wonder how it wears over time and usage.
