I purchased it in store and have regretted not thoroughly checking it. :sad:

anyway, I returned it yesterday hoping to just exchange but it’s out of stock... I’m still thinking whether I should order the same bag online or go with Siena pm instead! Goodluck on your purchase, i hope it’s in perfect condition!;)

Hi all, I also facing the same issue with many here, on the hardware of my speedy B 25. I bought it about 4 year ago, at that time, the hardware also tarnish with many black marks though I did not use it for 1st 4 months. I did bring it back to store to enquiry and they did replaced the hardware area espec on the D ring hook (both) on the strap.

Recently, I checked my bag again, realised it does tarnish again. Maybe due to humid weather here. I try to polish it just now with soft jewellery cleaning cloth, realised that some parts of the gold has worn off and can see specks of silver color instead. Is this normal? I am shocked as my LV other bags with gold hardware do not have hardware color or tarnish issue. I am so sad!

I have Speedy B 30 in DE for long time. I remember got it maybe like 6 years ago. I wore it everyday, it was my everyday bag carrying it to college. And, I remember the hardware started tarnishing within just few months after use.

I stopped using it totally cause I can’t bare the look of the hardware, it was that bad. I still have the bag back home in my country, when we can move around easily again, I will take them to LV and see what can they do.

From experience with my Speedy B, I would say it’s normal for this model. Hardware quality on this bag is for sure not LV priority...

My speedy 25 B DE also tarnished, I stored it in the original dust bag after I used it for 2-3 months, I am in Canada, the weather is rather dry, the hardware still tarnished. Cannot believe LV quality is so bad. I blamed it was made in US.
Since then, I no longer store LV bags in their dust bags. I leave them in the shelf of my closet

Hello! Creams like Brasso help, but I just accepted the fact that the hardware will look like that. I can always go to LV and change it, but it will probably happen again. On the other hand, my catogram Speedy still looks pristine.

Oh no I am thinking of buying a speedy B DE , but from what you ladies have said about the tarnishing hardware, I need to rethink again. Its a bag in the S$3000 plus! I cannot imagine paying good money for such low-quality hardware! My Thames GM's gold hardware though discolors to silver color but it do not tarnished.

I never checked mine, it is 7 years old Mon Monogram, has a bit of chipping rather than tarnish, but it actually does not bother me. Zippers still work find and I have taken that bag with me everywhere for travels.
Those bags are made for usage and travel. It lives and ages and I love that it somehow shows that it has been places. I myself would not bother with replacing them, except when they break.
If that occurs in new or newer bags with less usage I agree that this issue is not ok.
