I am going to chime in and say Speedy 25. I'm 5'4" and slight build, and it is exactly the right size for me. How wonderful of you to do that for your mom!

I also vote for the 25! It would hold everything that your mom carries and is comfortable to wear. The size 30 is much larger compared to the 25 and hence not so versatile imo. I myself currently have three Speedies in 25 and love them!

I think 25 is the best size. Don’t let her bring heavy bag. It’s not good for her health. My mum carry size 35 and I hate it. She tend to put everything and make the bag heavy. I told her to stop doing that but she always told me she still have some room to fill. 
I've called 2x a day, it's been sold-out. Going to make a stop in store on Friday and hopefully I get a good SA that can do something (I haven't been able to find someone since the store director I used to work with left)

a small update, my mom knew she was getting the speedy anyways. so i called her from the store and she ended up wanting the 30 more. lucky for me the store had the speedy b 30 in de (which was my moms top choice). i'm glad i was able to get her something she wanted

That is so nice of you. Personally I love my Speedy 30. The 25 is so cute but a pinch to small for me. I use a 25 organizer in my 30 so I can get the speedy sag and when I need to pack a sweater or some extras there is plenty of room. I am sure she will love it!
I’m going to get her an organizer to help her out as well. I put the 25 and 30 beside each other and video called her. She said 30 would be perfect and works for her and I said sold. The bag was beautifully made as well. Stitching was great, no wrinkles on the handles or leather, beautiful piece.
