I looked at both when I was buying mine. The Monogram 30 was way too big for me especially because I don't carry a lot of stuff with me. I looked at Monogram 25, too and after putting all my stuff in it, it was sagging! I love the shape of the bag...I think it's classic and timeless but didn't like the saggy look. So, I went ahead and bought a 25 in Epi leather. It holds its shape very well and it looks fantastic!!!!

So, I would go with a 25 unless you need a big bag to carry lots of stuff!

I definitely think it's a personal preference issue....whether you like a bigger or smaller bag, whether you care how you look proportionally, whether you carry a lot or not. I think the forum is really divided between those three groups. Have you gone to a store and tried it on?

Not sure if you have purchased your speedy yet.. the mono speedy was the first bag i purcahsed. Before making the purchase( as i bought used off ebay) i went into the lv store and tried both the 25 and 30 (mono bags) the 30 was too big for me. Although i normally carried a good size bag it just seems too big for me( i'm only 5'3) so once i was sure i made the purchase. the next (big) bag was the mc speedy 30 I Just loved that bag and was getting no matter what, After getting it was like OMG this is huge( not to mention heavy) after using it a few times and going back to my speedy 25 wow does it seem small now. I have even thought about selling the speedy 25 and getting 30.
Thought here is I think it was more the pattern, it was my first lv and not totally me yknow.. if you are comfy with the size of the 30 go for it.. more so if you carry a ton of stuff. otherwise you'll end up down the road ( once you're really into Lv) wish you went bigger.
