Speedy 25 Damier or Mono, Strap or no strap?

Another vote for bandouliere. It's so handy to have. I have a Speedy B 40 and I love it. I do have a 35 in Monogramouflage too, but I really wish it had a strap. I occasionally use it with a strap attached to the metal parts where the handles attach, but I would prefer if it had rings at the side specifically to attach a strap.
My Speedy B 40 is in Monogram (of course!) but I would vote for DE. I've always thought about adding a DE Speedy B 35 to my collection, and I might do one day if I find a pre-loved one for the right price in the right condition.

My first LV was a speedy 25b in monogram. I was thrilled and loved the size/look. However, I don’t wear it as much because of the vachetta (even after spraying Appleguard). Two years later, I land the speedy 25b in DE and totally wished I had bought that bag first for all the reasons stated by others. I think I would have used the handbag much more as a DE and acquiring the monogram would have been nice to have.
I have a classic Speedy 25 in DE and I absolutely love it. I’m only 155cm tall so it’s the perfect size and shape for me. It can look smart or casual, it goes with everything, it’s weatherproof and it has that gorgeous red interior. I‘m thinking about getting the 40 as an overnight bag but that would have to be in Monogram.
I love my Speedy B25 in DE. I purchased monogram 25 without the strap as my first LV years ago and didn't use it much. I use my DE more often as it is more versatile with the strap. My preference is taking out the middle part and wearing it on my shoulder but I carry the middle part with me if I go shopping and want to be hands free.
I have not had any wear and tear (or cracking near the zipper) so far (knock on wood). Mine is 4 years old.

No cracking for me, I've used it off/on since I purchased in 2019 and don't really baby it.
I am definitely considering Speedy 25 in DE. I’m hesitant to get it because people say it’s basic/boring, but I like the classic element of the Speedy. It is sold out online. Is it possible to have an SA get one??? Has anyone had luck getting one recently???
I was hunting for one (DE or DA) for a couple months and every SA I encountered said they couldn’t order them because stock was so limited. Even my own SA wasn’t able to help. So I stalked the website for a while and then finally started stalking the stores, got lucky a couple weeks ago and scored a DA in a LV inside Bloomingdales. Literally they just got a shipment in an hour before and had one available.
I was specifically looking for a 25 bandolier. I have a Speedy B 30 in DE already which I love but I’m short (5’3”) and for every day use it’s really big. I also have a Speedy 30 in mono. I’m pretty happy with it, was definitely worth all the stalking I did.
The one you got a couple weeks ago and scored a DA in a LV inside Bloomingdales what size is it and does it have the strap or no strap?
Go for the bandolier. You can always remove the strap and hand carry, but you can’t add the strap to the non bandolier version without some sort of awkward workaround.
Monogram or Damier are both great choices. I think it comes down to the leather? The treated leather on the DE is worry free. The untreated trim leather on monogram could pose concerns depending on lifestyle and weather.

My question is did you purchase the DA? If so what size and did you get the classic or bandolier? I’m sorry if I confused you.
Yes, I’ve purchased a Speedy Bandolier 25 in DA and Empreinte Noir. I love both but ended up giving the DA to a friend when I transitioned from canvas to leather with my LV collection. The Speedy 25 is a wonderful size for every day use and the bandolier version gives amazing versatility.
Once you’re out and about on a day of errands or a holiday abroad and you realize you’re hands free with the perfect size Speedy using the shoulder strap, you’ll wonder why you ever questioned buying the bandolier version.
Like previous posts have said, the Speedy 25 bandolier allows you to remove the strap, but you cannot add a strap to the non bandolier version. The non bandolier version doesn’t have the hardware needed to attach a strap.
