almost bought one online recently but decided it is better to see it in person. why don't they have inspectors to make sure they are all nicely embossed??? we can't be the only ones who care about such things, can we?
To be 100% honest, most clients don’t inspect the depth of the embossing as part of their decision making. The lighter embossing is typically calf leather, which is softer and more difficult to emboss, hence also the slouch. Cowhide will emboss deeper and hold its structure better, but not as soft. LV uses both leathers for Empriente.
I have the PM in empreinte and didn't look at the embossing as the bag looked beautiful. However, I ordered a montsouris backpack and was disappointed when it arrived with barely there embossing. It was also uneven embossing, so I did exchange it. My concern was that since it softens over time, it would virtually disappear. And I should have been more clear! My comment about things looking terrible was actually aimed at the portion of the question that asked about inspection of items leaving for shipment. I meant there is an overall lack of quality control.
I just received the Empreinte speedy 20 today, and I'm...underwhelmed? I thought for sure this bag would be perfect for me and I loved it in all the videos and pictures I've seen, but sadly, I think I'm going to return.
The main reason is because I feel like it looks like I'm carrying a child's bag
I have a small frame, but I'm tall, so maybe that's why. I dunno. It ended up feeling smaller than I expected too, even though I checked the measurements. I have lots of small bags, so I wonder if it's just this specific style in a small size that doesn't work for me. The chain part of the strap looked a bit weird in person, too. Am I the only one that feels this way? Haha I feel like I am!
I always try to see a bag in person before buying (with a couple of exceptions), so I guess this was a lesson learned for me about buying online

i absolutely love mine. I wish the strap didn’t have the chain part at times too. This is my favorite bag since it’s crossbody and carefree. I am 5’7”, and average/slim build and I don’t feel like it’s child like. I don’t think I can pull off the 25B as a crossbody, as it would stick too far out from my body. Maybe try it with a few of Your usual outfits? I am actually quite surprised with how much it does fit. I wish you luck on making your final decision!
No doubt it's a very cute bag overall, but for some reason I just don't feel like it works on me. It looks good in all the mod shots I've seen, so I was kind of surprised that I didn't love it
The capacity is great, but visually something is just kind of "off" when I try it on. I have a few empreinte pieces and I'm a big fan of that type of leather, so I'm extra bummed it didn't work out.
