So, there are many, many surgeons, all over the world that are quite skilled in erasing Signs of aging. For example. Let us say somebody is 35-45. They specifically look their age due to several reasons, such as:

Lengthening of their philtrum which has happened over time
Slight jowling
Slight descent of midfacial fat tissue
Slight drooping of the brows
Slight drooping of the eyelids
Slight drooping of the nose tip
Loss of facial fat in all areas of the face
Etc

As we know, many people usually see one or two things about their aging face and decide to get it operated on. Let us say from the above list, a 35-45 year old decides to have a lip lift (for the upper lip to shorten their philtrum again), and a brow lift to lift their eyebrows again. Let us imagine the result is good....... The end result for this person is they look refreshed (meaning they still have the other signs of aging listed above, minus the lip lift for the philtrum and the brow lift to lift the brows). So NOW this person, regarding those two specific signs of aging, looks "younger" ONLY IN THOSE AREAS. HOWEVER, the OTHER SIGNS OF AGING THEY HAVE have NT been addressed, meaning they are dead giveaways of their age still. They still look their age, but they now have reversed a couple aging changes, hence still looking 35 to 45, BUT now they just look like a more gracefully-aged 35-45 year old. There is nothing wrong with that except what I am about to say.

Many people are going for the refreshed look, which means just turning back the hands of time on specific aging changes they have seen over time, rather than addressing all of them. Which is fine. HOWEVER, many people think addressing their worst signs of aging rather than ALL the signs, will take years and years off their face. For example. Many who have jowling will get a facelift. Afterwards they and their surgeon will say "oh my god you look 10 years younger." WHich is almost ALWAYS untrue. The TRUTH is, they look better no, and more refreshed, but only adressing anything less than ALL THE SIGNS of aging in your face, successfully, will not make you look significantly younger. When we are speaking about truly reversing somebody's looks by 10 plus years, that is VERY difficult. The aging face is literally a game of millimeters. The brow and eyelids can start sagging just a few millimeters, as well as the nose tip, philtrum, etc. You get the point. A surgeon has to have INCREDIBLE eye for aesthetics and the ability to acknowledge ALL THE SIGNS OF AGING IN THE FACE OF SOMEBODY, in order to address them properly, and TRULY turn back the hands of time.....

However, finding befores and afters of any surgery where several/all the signs of aging in somebody's face has been addressed and "corrected"...... well, I almost never see that.

So I opened this thread because I think this is something we all need to discuss (people actually trying to look younger, rather than just "refreshed"

Who are some surgeons/clinics that ACTUALLY succeed in looking at someone's fce, identifying their signs of aging, addressing them all, and ACTUALLY legitimately turning back the clock?

I recall a user here who made a really long thread about how she went from looking 50+ to 20s. (In my opinions she went from looking 50 plus to like a hybrid of someone between 28 and 32. Basically the difference was INSANE. Some of the best work I have ever seen.. She geneuinley got like 20 years or so off her appearance. It was remarkable. It is results like that I am interested in discussing. It is surgeons like that (wherever they are in the world) that I am interested in. A surgeon with such an eye for the aging face that they genuinely can not only identify the signs of aging in an individuals' face, but address them all, and surgically correct them successfully and naturally for a true awesome, de-aged, and NOT JUST "Refreshed" look

I think it would be great for us to discuss this here because while it is fine to want to look refreshed, some of us would GENUINELY like to turn back the hand of time, which is FAR more difficult, yet also so much more valuable.

Not in South Korea, but NYC

I wrote about it here:

IMO, I look better than I did in my 30s, and I am 54 :). Not simply refreshed, but better, younger, and more polished.
But, the difference is subtle; and, I don’t think the average person I know could pin point exactly what, if anything, was done

So curious who this user was

Now THIS is what I am talking about. Are you saying that you look better (and not just better/more attractive, but legitamately younger?) If so would you mind sharing photos? If you are 5 and look younger than you did at 30s then I am VERY intrigued as to who your surgeon was, as well as the procedures you did. However if you do not look neccesarily younger, BUT look overall better/more attractive or something that also is valid. I do not mean to sound callous at all, I respect the heck out of your post. I am just seriously looking for people who literally have gotten surgery to turn back the hands of time very significantly. (I should probably link that other thread I was referring to in my OP

My original goal was never to simply refresh and maintain. Some of my skin texture issues came about bc of really unfortunate experimentation with essential oils years ago. I had to go to urgent care twice with skin damage and allergic reactions, and my skin texture was worse than my mom’s skin (and she sunbathed with baby oil for decades). I also had some dark discoloration spots that were diagnosed as a condition known colloquially as adult onset birthmark (yes, an oxymoron). Treatment of this condition consisted of multiple monthly treatments of a variety of lasers formulated specifically for Asian dark skin. None of these issues could ever be addressed with simple facials or aesthetic treatments. Some of the essential oil damage exacerbated fine lines around my eyes, nasolabial folds, and nose bridge. My derm used Botox and vollure filler at various points (following my natural expression (and not simply between the brows. I don’t need to get this redone every six months. But, she makes that decision when she sees me. She also started to use filler to correct some asymmetry of my jaw.

I am also predisposed to milia, sometimes along the lash line, which many dermatologists refuse to extract. My current dermatologist is a dermatologist and laser surgeon who works in Dr. geronimus’s practice. (I used to see Geronimus, but it’s a bit more difficult to schedule appointments with him). She deals with my milia issues. And, because I stopped wearing makeup (in large part bc of the milia), she also referred me to Renee Lee at le Kitsune for ombré nano eyebrows (the next generation of micro blading) and aquarelle lips; both semi permanent make up tattoo techniques. (I’ve written a thread about this). https://forum.purseblog.com/threads...levels-and-a-micro-blade-alternative.1044944/

I have sparse eyebrows which I overplucked, and my lips had thinned. I can say that based on the custom color of my lips (a process that initially took over four hours), they look fuller and plumper without anything else. (I included pics in my thread). The eyebrow work created the illusion of youth and lift. I tried upper lashline semi permanent eyeliner twice. But, as per my eye doctor, my body is abnormally sensitive (I puffed up like a blowfish). MY eye doctor took down le kitsune info for his other clients though.

However, after some months, none of the above helped with the fact that as I aged, like many Asians who have ptosis or lash tosis, your eyes seem to grow smaller and recede, and the surrounding face looks bigger and wider. For that issue I believe you need a surgical procedure. Once that is done, you then have to reconfigure or redistribute the volumes of the surrounding areas. I feel very confident that the fat grafts on the area below the eyes and on the cheeks create a subtle but unmistakably much more youthful aspect. I also had the jowling suctioned off. One reason why I am confident no one really notices the work is bc even ones most critical friend doesn’t really look at your face by the millimeter. I also wear glasses that cover a lot of the damage. But, honestly, even when I started with invisalyne and a bit of filler, my apple phone stopped recognizing my face lol. Even my closest family members don’t notice or assume the lack of Jowling is due to the 25-30 pounds I took off during Covid SIP (I see a Weill Cornell endocrinologist who helped pioneer the weight loss clinic there; and, in additon to metformin, changed my eating habits and exercise program substantially)

So, upon reflection, the more youthful aspect is due to all of these things combined. But, the relatively minimal plastic surgery procedures are what make me the happiest and deliver the most results. I personally don’t think I would have been ready to take this step until I reached a more mature stage in my life. It’s really an individual decision. And, I do understand that with the fat graft, there is a certain amount of upkeep that varies with every individual. I anticipate in my case that I may have to go back perhaps every 10-12 years.

Post surgery, my doctor gave me a regimen for skin care. I previously did as little as possible. Eye wipes; a gentle disinfectant spray; and a specially formulated fruit acid, all designed to prevent milia. I also update my hair, hair color and wardrobe as appropriate. I will say that my family tends to look quite young for their age, but that i took it to another level. I look much better. While I won’t post specific photos, I think my post details the relevant info. HTH

Not plastic surgery, but I would like to mention https://www.instagram.com/karina_na_more/ 's face and posture marathon. I started doing it 4 months after my double jaw & zygoma reduction surgery, and it has made a big difference in how my face usually looks. I'm the type of person who gets puffy in the morning, and this exercise and massage routine adds definition to my face. I usually do it with my skincare routine and it doesn't become a hurdle. Honestly, she looks stunning for her age, and who knows if she did something else aside from the facial massages, but hey, I was able to reduce the double chin after surgery.

There are also the IPL Photorejuvenation, which keeps dark spots and texture at bay, and Hifu/Ultherapy treatments which I've considered as alternatives to the after 35yo skin loosening.
