My diamond is not perfect but I love it....numbers are just that: numbers.

You chose a stone that you loved and that's all that matters. Your ring is gorgeous, enjoy it :smile1:

I agree with what the other posters have stated here. There will always be a better or more interesting ring out there, so stop looking!

My husband mentioned that I could get an upgrade at a major milestone, but even after many years of marriage, I don't see the need to do it.

I looked at the specs of my ring when I first got it, but I couldn't even tell you what the specs are now. I really love my ring, but I've also had the thought from time to time that it would be nice to have a slightly different look, a different setting, a halo, etc. I love your ring. I thought about getting a halo right hand ring so I could have that look once in awhile. I've gotten a few pairs of halo earrings that have helped scratch that itch. So that's one way to handle it!

I think all of this is probably just due to how taste changes over time. Sometimes all you need to do is get it cleaned and it's the sparkliest thing you've ever seen. I've joked with my jeweler that I need to take their lights with me because my ring always looks on fire with their perfect lighting.

When we bought mine, there were other diamonds with better specs. This is the one I loved. I knew I would enjoy looking at this diamond more that the one with betters numbers and that one was a ton more money. It's not about the numbers to me.
You loved your when you looked at it. That is what matters. There will always be better diamonds.

I love mine too and it has its problems, but it will always be special to me. We got married in May (years ago) my ring is beautiful. In oct of next year he got me a ring I had seen and said WOW to. Oct is the month we met. So I got a 4.5 carat marquis for our 4 year meeting anniversary. He is such a romantic.

Sorry OP didn't mean to high-jack.

Every diamond I've ever loved has been a misfit, and yours is a triple Ex stone! That already means that it's cut better than, like, 98% of the round brilliants in the world. It's gorgeous, and you looked beyond the paper and chose the stone based on what your eyes and heart told you, which means it's undoubtedly better and more beautiful than the smaller tabled stone, TO YOU. And that's what matters most!

There's a strong bias on PS for diamonds that have parameters for a specific look, but truly can the human eye distinguish between subtle differences in light return? And can we say without a doubt that light return is the only measure of beauty? What about fancy cuts? Are they less beautiful than ideal cut RB's because they return less light? What about old cuts - are they less beautiful?

Beauty is completely subjective - enjoy your gorgeous ring!

Your ring is gorgeous! As someone that recently lost her ering and later found it , I can say I used to trash my ring! I was never happy with it. I wanted it bigger and better. How silly I was . I really did not appreciate it enough at all.
When I found it, I was crying like a baby and will never ever feel it is not the best ring for me.
It really does take loosing something to realize how lucky you are. :)
