I bought mine from whiteflash and I found out about it via pricescope. It was a 0.72 karat with simple platinum setting for $3300... F color and SI1 clarity.

I did shop around before I decided to buy it online.. Saw many in stores and for the price and the oclor and clarity I went with online store. I also did a wire transfer for the payment and so I got 10% discount I think.

I love mine.... :)

I say just be honest. It's a buyers market. When I was resetting my stone I told the jeweler "this is what I want and this is what I will pay". They really want to work with you and make a deal. Big diamonds are not flying off the shelves now.

BTW, about Good Old Gold. They were incredibly rude to me and my fiance when we went in there to look at stones. I was surpised so many had good experiences. Maybe we will have to try again. DF was sooo angry he stormed out!

No one really has the diamond that I want except for Engagement Rings Direct-it's a stone slightly bigger than most (5.37 carat cushion cut, F, VS2)

We are still in the process of talking with him. He hasnt gotten back to me since yesterday and I am in rush either. So we will wait and see what he says.
