Oh, thank you! That's good to know because I was going to go on Monday and have them put the heel on. I'll wait then until the rubber part has worn first and then take them. I'm in OC, so I spend more time driving than anything haha... Thank you for sharing what your cobbler said before I went to take my shoes in! Yes, we must wear them now!!

ooh can I ask who your cobbler is? I work in LA but I live in Long Beach so depending on where exactly an OC cobbler might be more convenient for me to get to in the future.

Oh you're not too far of at all! It's Andreas Boot and Shoe Repair in Yorba Linda. One man shop, mom and pop style. He sometimes takes a little over a week, but he's been so good to work with. I'm going to actually taking a bag there to ask him for a repair and fix up the leather! http://www.andreasbootrepair.com/locations

Oh this looks like a great option. Thanks so much, I’m always looking for good cobblers/dry cleaners/tailors etc. =D

Bumping this thread back up, keen to hear if anyone has regretted added sole protectors/guards to their chanel shoes or would recommend only doing it after a few wears?
Hi! I made the mistake of not adding vibram immediately after purchase like I did with the other pairs.
It was so slippery the ballerina flats I had to be very careful while walking in them.
I highly recommend adding the protective sole asap.
I know some SA will advise against adding the sole as the cobbler tends to file the brand new soles to make the soles stick better but it was really hard for me to wear them as-is.

I wear Chanel shoes every day and I have only ever resoled one pair of shoes once which were heavily used for a number of years. Chanel shoes are very well made and can withstand a lot of use before new soles are needed. I found the vibram
Soles interfered with the shoe (ballerinas) as it made them slightly heavily and not as comfortable.

What about the slip hazard of the slick leather soles? That is my main concern, I don’t want to go flying feet first in the air as I make a dramatic entrance :D
