That’s interesting. I wonder if they changed the fabric. That picture you posted does look kind of different. I only buy online so I haven’t seen the newer ones in person to compare. I’m not sure what the Herve Leger fabric is like but I can’t imagine it is quite like my boots. They call it ‘jersey’ but it’s more like a pair of opaque tights (panty hose if you’re not British!). It’s soft and is very easy to put on/take off. So yes, maybe it’s different. I might take a look at some of the round-toed ones now I’ve discovered this! I really like the round toe and I love the general appearance with dresses and skirts. I like the ones I have with my Bal shirt dress from 2017 and with all my flowier things. I find them flattering and classic enough not to stand out in the wrong way, but with a bit of edge. When I first had them I felt I needed to stuff them full of gel insoles and heel grips but I found it was really just a matter of getting used to how the foot fits and they were fine without.Yes, these are the slightly rounded toe version. The knit is like 2 layers of Herve Leger bandage material so it's quite thick, and not the easiest to take on and off, but they do keep your legs insulated. I think they'll be great under flowy dresses and skirts when it's cold out.
They go way up my thighs, so they stay up quite well bc that's the widest part, and bc the material is so thick.
Is yours made with a different fabric? I love the pointy knife, so iconic and statement.

Well, that’s me on the prowl for the new fabric now ...They definitely changed it, at least for this past F/W collection. Your analogy to "opaque tights" matches what I recall reading about the knife boots, which is thinner than mine. I'll try to zoom in and get a screenshot. If you're familiar with chelsea boots with that thick band of elastic so you can slip into the boots without any zips? The fabric is kind of like that. Maybe super industrial strength spanx for a better description.
The knife toe is always going to be a Balenciaga signature and classic design, but the rounder toe is easier for me to wear.
I got these pics from yoox so definitely check them out as they're under retail, if you dont mind past season merch!Well, that’s me on the prowl for the new fabric now ...
