Fashion entrepreneur Loren Ridinger got a major get-well present from her husband, JR Ridinger, when she woke up last week from surgery performed to repair a brain aneurysm — four one-of-a-kind Birkin bags. JR, who along with Loren runs direct retailer Market America, brought her 15 Birkin bags to choose from right after her procedure. The ones Loren picked included two with rare crocodile skin and one of ostrich (each of which can run $20,000 and up). JR explained to us: “The day before she was afraid and worried, as we all were, that something may go wrong. So I wanted to buy them before the surgery to show her the confidence that I had that we made the right decision . . . It was kind of a demonstration of belief. I wanted to give her an extra reason to be motivated to wake up to something she loved.” The Ridingers also generously gifted La La Anthony with a Birkin bag, and gave Carmelo Anthony a special addition Hublot watch for helping them find their surgeon at Mount Sinai, Dr. Aman Patel.

Oh sorry, JF shared this on FB. Her status was "********* was happy to be a part of the big surprise!" I thought we could take her word for it, but what do you think?? JF also posted on FB when Lala got her tosca with the caption "Who really won the gold? Carmelo Anthony's wife LaLa scores big today with her Hermes! Enjoy, from *********!" I post the pic below.
I just want to say I'm not affiliated with JF at all. Just have always been curious who is paying almost double US prices and triple Euro prices for these B's. Maybe "socialites" and celebs, but I would have thought they could get their own from H.....Anyway, there is a market for everything...maybe H doesn't care if you are a "socialite."
