Okay, everyone – this is going to be a big one! :smile1:

I’ve been kind of absent for the past month or two with everything going on in my life. I peeked in from time to time, but I haven’t been participating.

While I’ve been relatively quiet on tPF, I have not been quiet on eBay. :p I’ve purchased fourteen Coach items off of eBay recently, but only 7 made the final cut. I’m only going to list the ones that I am keeping and the interesting ones that have sold because I don’t want it to look like I’m advertising my own auctions (because I absolutely am not!!).

Before I became “quiet,” I mentioned that I had a Holy Grail on the way – unfortunately that was a major disappointment because the seller was just atrocious and lost the detachable strap and dust bag on the way to UPS. She wouldn’t accept the bag back, and I really didn’t want to fight her, but she did give me a partial refund. It’s listed right now, so I won’t tell you what bag it is – I just didn’t want you all to think I was holding out on you. :smile1: Also, the Cognac Rory didn’t work out and I sold her – she was just too big on my 5’3 frame. :shucks:

Without further ado, here they are!

1) Let’s start small: I got this NWOT Girlie Preppy Mix fob (92848) for $17 shipped. I am obsessed with bows so it was too perfect to pass up! (Not my pic)

2) I mentioned this one in my thread earlier today (http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/best-travel-wallet-823957.html). I believe it is a Hamptons wristlet, maybe 2007 because of the Legacy lining? Anyway – it was listed as not having the wristlet strap, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that the seller had found it and included it. I paid $27 shipped and it is in PERFECT condition!

3) I have been looking for a checkbook wallet for what seems like forever. I wanted a fun color because I can’t stand changing wallets – I always end up losing something! I came across this one which was NWT detached, and though it’s more than I had hoped to spend, I went for it and scored this beauty for $84 shipped. I figured that because I got the wristlet for such a steal, I could afford to go a little over budget on the wallet.

4) I am not a small bag person, so it was always between the Bridgit and the Leigh for me; I knew I only needed one. I found this Leigh (11128) first and paid $60 shipped. When I got her, I just wasn’t thrilled or wowed. Maybe because of her color – I’m not sure. So I listed her back on eBay and she sold rather quickly.

5) Before I even knew about Leigh, I wanted Bridgit. However, I got impatient and started to look for the Leigh, too. Like I already mentioned, she didn’t work out, so I kept my search going for B. Lucky for me, my persistence was worth it because I paid $67.22 for this silver Bridgit (11150) and I could not be happier! It was in excellent condition and looked like it had never been used.

6) I sometimes frequent the Secondhand Bargains thread and kept seeing this bag in a plethora of colors and never understood the hype. At first, I thought the shape was rather odd and I thought the opening/closure would be entirely dysfunctional. However, I wanted to see what the fuss was all about and set about trying to find one. At this point, I’d like to just give a shoutout to Jessi319 for her amazing pictures that convinced me that I needed this bag because I totally did! I negotiated with the seller and while I didn’t get quite the deal that Jessi did (I think I remember seeing that she paid around $75), I paid $100 shipped for this almost-perfect Fuchsia Haversack (12797) and she even came with the suede kit! I have to say that this is definitely in my top five bags – I LOVE it and use it all the time. It is so easy to carry and open and the color is just TDF. Seriously love it.

7) I also mentioned this in my thread as the bag that I’m taking to Europe, but it was such a good price that I need to share it here, too! I paid $112.45 shipped for this Kristin Elevated Satchel (16823) in black leather. When I first got it, I was so disappointed in the resin hardware – I didn’t know that they weren’t metal. However, I’ve gotten over that because I truly love the bag. TBH though, I feel kind of silly having her and Laila, especially because they are both black bags. However, I find Laila more comfortable as a satchel and Kristin Elevated more as a crossbody. There is also the different-colored hardware – so that is how I’m justifying it! :p

8) This one was a fun one. I just happened to be browsing eBay and came across this once-in-a-lifetime bag. She was adorable and I had always wanted to see her in person. I waited until the final seconds and went all in with my final bid where I won this Straw Lily Tote (10759) for $154. 50 shipped! When I got her, I couldn’t believe her size – she was gigantic! I have to say that I loved her, but she was just too impractical – I knew I would not use her enough to justify the closet space. So while I wept on the inside, I sold her for much more than I paid in order to fund one of my Holiest Grails, which I will reveal as my last bag.

9) Let me start this last reveal by saying that this is the most I have ever spent on a handbag. I buy all of mine from eBay (Bonanza, etc.) or the outlet as FP deletes or returns at substantial savings – my target is always to save 70% or better. So when I came across this exact bag in a thread as I was perusing tPF one day, I figured it would be a cold day in hell when I got it into my collection. I did some research and tried to contend myself with the fact that it came in other colors, but they were no match for the 1 out of 28 stunner. Resigning myself to keeping her on my “HG list” as a perpetual addition, I moved her further down the list in order to budget for other bags that I wanted.

I checked eBay every now and again in hopes of finding her, but never had any luck. After I discovered Bonanza, I found the bag on there, but the price it had sold for was way, way out of my budget. I pretty much gave up any hope of ever coming across her at that point – not only because of the cost, but because I couldn’t imagine anyone every giving her up!

Three weeks ago, I was crusin’ for deals on the bay and lo-and-behold there she was – terribly listed and poorly photographed (the lighting was too bright and her color got distorted). The seller had a reserve on it and a BIN price, which was also out of budget (are we seeing a pattern here? ;)). I messaged her and started the negotiating process. She refused all of my offers and we were too far apart to agree on a price, though I asked her to contact me if she reconsidered. I watched the auction end with the reserve not-even-close to being met and hoped that she would reach out me. It took about a week, but when I saw her seller ID in my message inbox, I could not help but get my hopes up. I’ll end the story here by saying that she accepted my offer of $280 shipped and was honestly one of the best sellers I have ever worked with – kind, considerate and just all-around lovely.

Sorry to hog the thread, but I hope you enjoyed seeing what I’ve been up to - thanks for letting me share! :smile1: I look forward to seeing all of your eBay deals!

Wow! :faint: You have been busy! Of course, nothing beats the Audrey! That is a once in a lifetime find! Do you know what her original price was? Or was she given away to celebrities? It makes you wonder why they aren't all in Shanghai.

The other items are pretty nice too! Twins on Bridgit and almost twins on the haversack. I'm curious about Leigh. I thought I wanted one but I'm afraid to spend too much in case I don't like it.

Yes and after Audrey, I need a break! Yes, she will be a forever-bag for me, I think. After I found her on tPF (the member [I don't remember her name...] was the orignal owner as the pictures of her had the tags) and I first began researching her, I came across the bag's listing on Bonanza. I'm not sure if it was the original owner but whoever was selling it I was doing so because their pet (cat, I think?) needed an unexpected operation. I think that is when my seller bought it.

I don't know - I plan on asking the original tPF member, but haven't gotten around to it yet. :)

Thanks so much! :smile1: Yes, the Bridgit is definitely my favorite aside from the Audrey because I waited for her for a long time, too! I have to say that I did not expect B to be so roomy - she fits a ton of stuff, including my checkbook wallet. Definitely love her!

In regards to the Leigh, that's exactly how I felt - I wanted to try it, but not have to pay an arm and a leg for it. In the end, the one I purchased was a little worn, but I'm glad I choose to try her rather than spend over $100 (or more!) on one that was in good condition, especially because I didn't love it anyway. I know that some people really like her, but for me, it just wasn't love.

Thanks again! :smile1:

ETA: No, I'm not sure of the original price of Audrey. I'm pretty sure that the eggshell and peach (coral? IDR the exact color name) non-numbered bags retailed for $498, but those were released in the US...

I love your story about the bag. The whole process makes her even more unique. I love hearing about amazing deals on purses and she is beautiful! Congratulations.

I totally agree about the stories - it also helps to remember details about certain bags when there is a story attached to it. In fact, I'll never forget how you got your denim woven Laila at the thrift store for $40 or the python Sophia for $60 on Craigslist. It was because of reading that that I really tried to find some deals around my area (nothing yet, but not for lack of trying :p!).

Thanks. It makes me smile when I realize people still remember those two. Several others have mentioned them recently too. I still have both and I don't think I'll be able to part with either one. Oh, and I have never found another coach purse at that goodwill since then. Good luck on your hunt for more bargains!

Thanks - you too!
