I like whatever seems like a quality product that won't immediately go out of style (which is why i have refrained from getting the patchwork stuff even if i LOVE it).

  • Do you buy bags for the season or stick to year-round? I generally shop for the season; I buy a new bag in the fall for the fall/winter season, and a new bag in the spring for spring/summer.

Since I rotate bags by season, I would save them with the intent of pulling them out when their respective seaons rolled around again. But now, I am finding that when the new season comes around, I am usually lusting over a new bag that has come out instead of going back to the bag that I had used the year before. So, when a new season rolls around, if I find that I am wanting a new bag from Coach, I go ahead and buy that and eBay the old one. Or, if I really liked the bag I had used the year before and nothing at Coach is catching my eye, then I just use that one.

I usually check bags out online first, and then when I go to the store to buy I know what I want. I obsess over my bags for a long time until I save up enough money to buy them.

I generally buy whatever bag strikes my fancy, though sometimes I'm on the hunt for a specific type/style of bag.

I generally do not buy sets, but I have an LV epi mandarin wallet and bag set and four Coach wristlet/wallet and bag sets. It's really not important to me, but with Coach I can have more matching accessories.

Do you buy bags for the season or stick to year-round?

I try to bags that I will carry all year. I don't like being restricted to a particular season.

I have a big collection, but I only use a few bags on a regular basis. Some of them are just too nice/delicate/irreplacable for daily use!

I may mull it over for a week or 2 but usually end up buying it. I bought my Legacy satchel before I filed for divorce knowing it would be a while before I'd have money to spend again :p I still smile everytime I look at that bag!

Do you buy sets to use them together or mix and match? mix and match. I have 2 wallets and several wristlets and change them out occassionally. One of my online mom's groups bought me a matching legacy wallet to match my Legacy Satchel.

Do you buy sets to use them together or mix and match? Nope, I'm not a matcher. I tend to buy things that don't clash but I don't really change my wallet or make up bag with every new purse. I'm just not that organized! :yes:

Do you buy bags for the season or stick to year-round? I try to buy things that I can carry for at least that season. I would say that I buy a new bag every 4-6 weeks so it just wouldn't be pastel in winter or boring anything in the winter.

I have 3 sisters and all of us and our mom are totally obsessed so unless it's something i'm just nuts about or was a gift from my BF it usually finds a new home after a couple of months.

It depends. I've been thinking through getting a LV Speedy 25 for months now, and after that I know I'll start fixating on something else. On the other hand, I'm a sucker for a good deal. If I look at the price and think "Wow, that's cheaper than I thought!" it makes me happy. I love the outlet stores for impulse buys.

I've got some every day bags, but now I'm starting to get to where I want them for more specific things.

Mix and match. I have a pretty specific style, so I like to think that most of my stuff goes together pretty well.

Cheaper bags for the season (think Juicy), more expensive bags for year round.

I buy what I love, and I'm ridiculously picky. This makes for a smaller collection of things I just can't live without. I don't feel that I need to have a huge collection, and I'm happy as long as I have a bag to wear.

Some things I buy on impulse and some I think about, especially more expensive bags (like maybe $300+). Accessories are usually the impulse buys.

I try to have "basics" first and then build from there...most are everyday ones.

I use all of mine year-round with the exception of my scribble stuff. I bought it last summer and when fall hit, it was put up.

I do both. When I am at an outlet, I do a lot of impulse buys because the deal is just too hard to pass. It would be a sin not to buy. For my full price purchases, I tend to think a bit longer. My longest thought process goes to my Whiskey Ali. I kept thinking about it and I had a Coach dream about the Ali... Needless to say, I went to a boutique and paid sweet money to take it home with me.

Again, I do both. My Madisons (gold and black) were bought for going out and I found them at the outlet for a good deal. Most of my bags are big enough to be used on the daily basis though. I also have a problem with deciding which color to get so once I have my heart set on a specific style, I end up getting multiple colors.

I never really thought about this... hmmmm... Now you're making me think. I tend to like the simple classic looking bags. Most of my bags can be used all year round, with the exception of that Tie-dye white/silver bucket bag which I only use in spring/summer time. Oh yeah, and my newest purchase pale blue sig stripe tote is going to be used in spring/summer pretty much exclusively too. It's still so cold in Chicago... I can't wait to use the tote!!

Define big collection. I think opinions vary on the size of collection. I have 15 bags and lots of accessories. *pleading* I am not too bad, right? Actually, I kinda like a big collection… Anything below 20 is reasonable to me. I think everyone should have a tote, a hobo, 2 smaller clutch/going out bag, a satchel, a messenger and 2 backpacks (one for amusement park and one for shopping days). Also, everyone should have a nice black, brown, white and a colorful bag. So, how many are there now? I kind of lost count. LOL. Sorry… I really lost track. Focus, focus… I do have key items that I use on the daily basis, such as my most loved legacy leather wristlet in Whiskey. I carry it everywhere I go. It can be used by itself when running errands or tossed in my gym bag when I work out (because my cell phone and credit cards and my money can all fit in there)


I think I truly am an addict huh. LOL

I have to say that this forum has definitely challenged my 'keep a few key bags' mentality lately, although my two latest choices are bags that I know I will get tons of use from--the natural legacy slim tote and a beautiful embossed C tobacco carryall--so I guess that gets me off the hook.

Oh. Bummer.

Still, I find that this forum actually helps me consider which bags to choose and why, and I love finding like minds that love a beautiful Coach bag!

Do you tend to purchase on impulse or think things through for a long time first? I "decide" on impulse. I see something and then have to have it. I search for it until I get it. It's weird, that sometimes, once I get the bag I've been coveting, it loses some of it's appeal.
Do you buy bags for specific use, or do you buy multiple bags as 'every day' bags? Usually multiple 'every day' bags. I do buy a few that are designated for certain uses (i.e. travelling (swingpack) or going out for drinks (wristlet)).
Do you buy sets to use them together or mix and match? Mix and match everything -- though I sometimes do buy things to be all 'matchy matchy', it's usually because I'm obsessed with something (i.e. ladybug bag)

I think I may be insane somtimes when I look at all the bags. I think that "I must be stopped", but then I spot another bag that I absolutely must have. Insane, right? I think I'm going to start unloading some on ebay soon.

-- hmmm it depends on the bag and how much i like it! If i love the bag i ussally just get it, unless its 500+...then i think about it a bit! BUT my weakness is crazy/colored bags! If its cute and unique, it WILL be mine!!!

--If i like it i buy it, i can always find a use for it later! That said, i have bought some bags for specific use...like my huge leathery lace isabella fiore was bought to use as a backpack...and my small gucci is my clubbing bag :)

i dont think ive ever bought sets...im all about the details...my wallet (gucci D ring) matches my purse i use most days (gucci horsebit chain) but its not disgustingly matching, the hardware is both gold and thats close enough for me!! hehe i just carry my wallet over! But i do buy odd things to spice up my purchases, like i bought the scribble umbrella last week and i bought a colorful hearts and stars keychain that i attached to the handle to give it a little oomph!

-- i love a big collection!!! i have a massive (well for me..about 27 bags) coach collection and i love it because they are all bright funky fun colors!! I dont use them as much as i should...i ussally get lazy and just use my gucci :(

Very few bags can get my love at the first sight, so I buy them at once when that happens. :yes:

If I start thinking it through, that means I do not want it that much and usually I end up not buying.

If a good-looking matching set is available, yes...but most times mix and match. (too lazy to switch wallet every day)

Year-round. If I buy any seasonal bags they must be really low-priced.

She is very respectful of our collection and treats them with TLC, like her momma! So our purses are used on a regular basis.:supacool:
