NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't keep it for someone else!!!! Its a bit like you getting a Rolex that was originally destined for an ex love of her life!!
Will the guys you got it from not refund you the cost of the diamond but minus the cost of the setting??Over here in the Uk some jewellers are willing to do that, return the diamond to thier supplier or keep it and have it remounted for someone else as its not technically secondhand yet and if you actually have'nt taken delivery of it yet see how you stand on cancelling the order due to an unforseen circumstance? Ask your trading standards office for advice, and check with the guys you got it from on thier sales policy,I have had a look at it and it is possible to resize, but only 2 or 3 either way so its possible they will come to some sort of amicable arrangement with you as its a hugely desirable design, your best bet is with them first as anyone else will only offer you what they would be able to buy it for trade price(a lot less than you paid!) Whichever way ditch the ring and any link with her,its so cowardly of her not to just tell you back then, send her an e-mail of the pictures saying 'heres what you could have won!!You lose!!!!' I think you need a small amount of revenge to feel you got your own back, then you can move on,and do just that and never look back.It really is the worst thing a person can do to you it affects you on so many emotional levels, thank goodness you have found out what she's like before you gave her the ring!!! You sound like a nice guy who has 'got off lightly' from that nasty peice of work, don't let this spoil your future relationships, cos then your letting her have more influence on you than she has ever had a right to!! Good luck with the refund!!!
