So obsessed lately with ROLEX!

Very very nice greygirl!!!! Couldn't the seller have gotten the bezel for you and do that while it's being serviced?

If it is someone reputable on ebay, please do share!

I have requested it be done at the service--so that ought to work out, unless there's some issue about having to order one and it taking a long time, in which case I might have my local watchmaker/repair guy order one for me and do it later.

I bought it from one of the trusted sellers on the Rolexforums.com. (dangerous place ladies--these guys (mostly guys not all I'm sure) are as just as big of enablers for watch purchases as we are with purses). I'm buying from "Alex Collector" on that forum, but there are several who do pre-owned sales (and do it enough that there's lots of feedback on that forum and other watch forums so that I'm not worried about a fake).

And thanks for the compliments! I just hope it's not TOOO long before it's on my wrist!

I wear my husband's Daytona all the time, and he just bought me my own!!

You are a lucky girl!!! I am dying for that watch, still need some time to save up for it though. I am actually torn between Daytona, Platinum Pearlmaster with Diamonds and YG Daydate with Oyster Bracelet.... All man's size. I feel I need a large watch.

I agree. Everyone needs a man's size watch in their life...:D

p.s. I love the Day Date!!!!

When I was 'window shopping' I just googled PRE OWNED ROLEX and a lot popped up however I also 'ran a check' on the sites at rolexforums.com to see if they had any feedback. There was one (sorry, can't remember the name now) that seemed to have decent deals but the feedback was to 'run, not walk' away.......which I did. There's a great source in Chicago but their site is not good at all so that won't help you.

:D I just borrow my husbands 40mm Sub when I want to wear a bigger watch. I'm still not ready to purchase a man's size watch for myself. A 31mm Rolex is the max I would go if purchasing myself another watch right now. I'm happy just borrowing his watches for now.

I never thought my obsession would continue - LOL! I thought my Air King would be it and I would be done. For some reason, I'm still nutso with all the rolexes. I guess one of the best things about them is that they hold their value. So I guess you can get a pretty decent % back years down the road if you want something different. Do any of you ladies wear submariners, yaght-masters or daytonas? Do you love them?!

I almost forgot to answer your question. I'm indifferent when it comes to wearing my husbands Sub. At times I really like it and at other times I feel as though it's too big and chunky for my small wrist (I guess it really depends on your wrist size and personal style whether you feel comfortable with it or not). For me personally, I just don't feel the need to invest in a 40mm watch for myself because I know I will tire of it in the future. My husband has his eye on a datejust now as well so I can always just borrow his watches.
If money is not an issue and you just really love a big watch, then go for it if you feel it looks good on you. It's all about personal taste and style really.

Hey GreyGirl,
Love your new watch! I am thinking of buying one of "ALEX Collectors" watches also~
I just want to make sure it is the one for me. Both of my current rolex's are the ladies
size and they seem so small now that I wear my j12 all the time! I want to trade in
my ladies datejust for a mid-size. The one I love has a pink dial. Hope I don't get sick of it!

I'm wanting an Air King with a salmon dial. I haven't been able to find anyone locally (or even regionally) who has one at a regular authorized dealer. They will order one but they want to be paid in full in advance and no refunds. I'd much prefer to see, try on the watch at time of purchase.
It seems my options are:
order from an AD at full price
order from someone from the Rolex forum at discount (has good feedback but still a bit scary for me with a large purchase like this)
pick another dial color
wait (and don't know if or when I'd find one to buy at BNM store)
pay more for one with date feature which I don't want and costs like $1,000 more
I'm discouraged
advice?

Truthfully, I am very against making such a huge purchase online. I rather pay full price and have seen the watch and tried it on. I bought my rolex at Mayors Jewelers in Miami FL payed full price no discounts but I was able o finance it for 20 months no interest and if they dont have it in store they can order it for you without the commitment. you try it on and if you dont like it you dont have to buy it plus they have a 14 days refunds policy. They have stores all over the usa.
