I got my pink ruby small Georgie in the other day and was so excited she is so pretty went to use her the first time to go shopping and half way through shopping the shoulder strap fell off and down she went. After looking at why I realized Coach didn't stitch the strap hardware in on one side and the tab pulled out of the slot since there was nothing there holding it in. I am so mad right now.

I figured others may want to check their bags also for this. Hopefully it isn't on others but I have pictures to show what I am talking about. One picture shows what It should look like on one side. and the other shows the missing stitching on the bottom of the tab slot.

Ya I'm shipping it back since I don't have a Coach store close by. I called them to get a shipping label since I just got it last week and at first she was like just ship it back at my own expense. I had to explain more that it is something that is their fault not mine and I don't think I should have to pay for return shipping on it. She finally emailed me a label.

Thank you for posting this! I bought Georgie in person, and went over her carefully, but didn't check the strap tabs. I'd never have thought to check those.
I'm sorry you got a defective purse, but I'm glad that Coach will replace her....and good for you for wanting and getting a shipping label.
Hope your replacement is perfect!

Your welcome. I though I went over her pretty good when she came in too. Never thought of looking at that. But from now on that will be top of the list to check lol. Figured it would be good for everyone to know about since it could happen on any bag.

That's quite a defect. It reminds me of the time I ordered a Marc Jacobs bag on sale from Bloomies, and the stitches that attached the strap to the bag were coming loose. I was so disappointed, because this was my first Marc Jacobs bag, and I was excited about it. That's the first time I felt like crying over a bag. I sent it back with a note about the defect, and it showed up on Bloomies' site again!

After almost a full month and having to call them twice to find out what was going on with it. One person told me they were overnighting another one only to get a call the next day to tell me that my bag was actually sent to NJ to be fixed. But any way I received it today and I don't know how I feel about it. They didn't include the sleeper bag back in the bag. The place that they sewed got scratched and they used a different color thread. I know it is in a place no one would notice unless pointed out, but I feel like this isn't a good service on this one. I don't know if I should just say screw it and keep it anyway or send it back again. And if I send it back would they refund my money or give me a store credit since I took the tags off before it went in to get serviced. And would they take off money or anything since they didn't include the sleeper bag again. Or would a note about that suffice? I may be sounding picky about this but I think this is not what I paid for and expected more from them.

I'm sure the opinions will vary on this, but I would accept this repair. It's hardly noticeable in the photo. The scratch might become even less noticeable if leather conditioner was applied there.

I am so sorry this happened to you. They should have REPLACED the one you originally received with a NEW one. Really...what kind of service is that. Making you wait that long, using different colored thread, no dust bag. I am picky too - they should do better.

How far away is the closest store?

I think you should have a new replacement, too bad you are not near a store to deal with a rep in person. You received a defective bag, and now you have what I would call an irregular bag, since it was repaired as it was. I know that only you will notice the area, but for the price of a new Coach bag, I expect better quality.

Thanks for the opinions on what you think. But I think it is going back.

The nearest store is about 4hrs away. Too far to go to replace in store so I would have to mail it back. Just thinking it is more of a factory bag now and that's not what I paid for.

Can u send back a repaired bag ?

I hope so. They didn't give me a choice on repairing or sending a new one. I asked them for a new one when I sent it back. I didn't hear from them until I called to find out what was going on since it was taking a while to not have any info. Does any one know before I call them?
