Small Love bracelet in emergencies

This is why I will only entertain the cuff or regular bracelets that open via a clasp. In an emergency, the hospital staff will not be bringing you screw drivers. They will use their drill or saw and they won’t leave your bracelet looking pretty. Let’s be honest. They are there to save your life and not responsible for your personal belongings.

You can always buy one and keep in your wallet. Little eyeglass kits have them.

UGH that's the truth. They will not be delicate and screwing it off.

I think we would all agree jewelry is one of the last things we would bother if it’s a true emergency. Just saw the fellow up to save the threatening ordeal.

But perhaps we are also discussing there are the other kind of emergency where having to remove a jewelry easily to avoid some kind of danger/discomfort.

This may not fall into danger/discomfort, but I was at a big water park yesterday. I could have played all the rides but they are strict with no-jewelry rule (not even ear hoops nor rings. And I should have read the FAQs prior). I’ll be honest, I felt a little silly I couldn’t remove my Love bracelet.

This is nothing compared to emergency we are discussing about. But I’m just citing such things do happen.

Edited to add :
Hindsight of things, because of this, I got to spend loads of time with my 6yo as she doesn’t meet the minimum height for most rides. We had a great family time!

I will just say that I was in an emergency situation that involved 10 days in an ICU. I also broke the wrist it was on. But they absolutely “knew” what the bracelet was, and did take the time to gently remove it with a small screwdriver. Now - emergencies vary!! So I can see where quick decisions may be made. But they were great about it. (It used to show marks from the accident but luckily, it’s now just blended into general wear so I don’t even look at it and think that. They’re heartier than they look.)

That was very kind of them.

Yes it truly was. I had literally just bought my first bracelet for my 40th after saving and feeling guilty about the spend. Put it on and two days later - emergency. The ER MD was like, well we are going to have to saw that off and I thought of course, bc it’s me and my life. Of course. But the nurse came back and prob saw my face, and said, oh she IS joking, we know it’s a nice piece and we have asked for the MRI tech for the screwdriver before we send you back for scans etc. They also put the two pieces and screws in a bag so the pieces wouldn’t get lost. They were very kind in the midst of a pretty awful and uncertain time.
