Small bag for new mom

I carried a handbag and a diaper bag. I tried carrying just a diaper bag and hated it. I found that I wanted my stuff separate from my baby's . Try and see what works for you.

You may also want to try TJ Maxx, Saks Off Fifth, and Nordstrom Rack. They always have Rebecca Minkoff and Kate Spade bag at good prices. You may even find the darker colors.

I just bought the Gucci Soho Disco in black after literally two years of hemming and hawing about it. I wish I bought this bag sooner. It is amazing. I am a mom of two kids and the younger one is a baby, so I am in the midst of diaper bags and strollers. Let me tell you why I love love love this bag.

I have lots of mini bags because I like to keep my stuff separate from baby's (trust me, you will find it annoying trying to find your stuff in a bag filled to the brim with baby stuff). I currently own a Chanel mini, Chanel WOC, Prada WOC, LV Alma BB, and two Rebecca Minkoff mini macs. Despite having all of these, I felt I still needed the Gucci. Why?

1. I wanted a mini bag that held more than all of these bags could hold. I was always downsizing too much and it annoyed me. The Gucci fits as much as my Chanel jumbo but is a mini bag.

2. It is the lightest bag I own and so comfortable even when full.

3. It is soft so I can smush it without damaging it.

4. The black pebbled leather is so carefree.

Thank you all for your opinions on this. They made me realize again what I already knew but didn't really integrate. There is no way I can guess right now what I will need in the future or what will or won't work for me. It doesn't make sense for me to go for a bag (let alone designer bag) based on what I think I will need.

So... I have taken the plunge and got the Soho Disco this morning!!! I have been drooling over this bag for a long time now. And even if it doesn't work out as daily bag when the baby comes, I know I'll give it a lot of use whenever I'm not with the baby (and in the time I have left before he arrives!). I could not be happier - I already transferred my stuff to it and is roomier than what I expected, incredibly light and comfortable to wear, and I love the leather also! So excited!

It is really such a gorgeous bag! I got the Soho Disco recently and find myself wearing it all the time as an everyday bag because it's so roomy and goes with everything.

I think you made the right decision! I think it's a great time to be carrying a small purse because you have the diaper bag to shove your larger items in so your Disco is there only to carry your personal Essentials like phone and wallet. I know I carry so much crap with me on the daily that anything that small would never cut it...a diaper bag + stroller = alot of stuff, no need to carry everything!
