Slouchy New Togo?

My mom got a black B30 RGHW today and it is definitely slouchier than my black B30 GHW I received back in March. I’m attaching pics of both of our bags since hers looks a bit similar to yours out of the box. The felt on hers isn’t on straight so it’s making the bag look crooked haha. Once we put an insert in the bag it looks normal and not slouchy though!

It was really interesting to compare her bag to mine since we both have our B’s in togo. Her grain is a tiny bit smaller than mine and as you can see, she has no veining. However my black B30 GHW has much more veining but I don’t mind the veining on mine at all

It's so interesting that each bag has its own personality and some people prefer one way and others the other. For me, I'd rather have a slightly slouchy but not veiny bag than a veiny but not slouchy bag. It's just a totally personal preference and i know many adore their veiny bags. So i was really worried that i'd get a veiny bag in which case it would be a real struggle for me to decide if I should accept or reject and wait for the next one with the same spec, which could take a while.

Just like you said, a bag insert fixes the slouchy issue. I have also got an Etoupe B30 that I can hopefully be united with soon and based on the pics it looks just as slouchy.

RGHW is definitely my favorite HW color. I love GHW but I love RGHW even more. But RGHW is harder to get. I have a B30 Touch in Black RGHW and i hope to get my bags in RGHW. I know I’ll definitely do RGHW if I get an SO offer.

Could you kindly explain what does “R“ stand for? I look at both photos and couldn’t see the difference between the 2 HWs. I am a newbie in Hermes bags. Thanks

I too prefer the slightly slouchy but not veiny bag of the 2. But then if I ever get an offer I would take it whether veiny or not.

Thanks for your info. I like Rose GH. I saw in other threads about SO that it also comes with Brush GH too. Does that Brush GH gets rubbed off easily like the Chanel bag?

I wouldn't know since I don't have any SO's but I highly doubt any hardware from Hermes ever gets rubbed off. Their bags are the highest quality and I don't think I've seen anyone post on here about having that issue. Of course, the hardware definitely can get scratched but that's just part of the normal wear and tear. Some people buy the stickers from Orange Shield to use to protect their hardware from scratches. I do believe the brushed hardware helps to disguise those little scratches better than the regular shiny hardware though

Picked up my B30 Togo Gold w/ GHW today along with some twillies that I ordered a while ago. I haven’t been this excited for a long time! I’m glad that the leather doesn’t have that veiny look. Although it is a little slouchy out of the box, as soon as I put in a Maitai insert it looks in much better shape.

Since this is my first store bought Birkin, I’m wondering if it’s normal to have a Togo Birkin to look slouchy fresh out of the box? Also the box wasn’t shrink wrapped when it was brought to me. I don’t recall seeing a shrink wrapped box when I got my Kelly either. Is it common for a K/B box to be without a shrink wrap? Thank you.

Gorgeous bag!! congrats. Love this combo!! If it bothers you a lot, you can stuff it with some towels or airbags to help straighten it. Just be careful with overstuffing. It worked on my togo bag To me, your new bag looks perfectly fine though!

Thank you. I put in a Maitai B30 insert which fits perfectly and does make the bag a lot less slouchy.

I purchased in January 2020 my Black B30 GHW in Togo and my sister in law got hers in July 2020 also Black B30 SHW in Togo and her bag, is softer and slouchier than mine even though they're both Togo - guess it really depends on the individual skins.. for example I own 3 B30's in Clemence, and none of them are slouchy, even my B in VV and now RE they are sturdier than my sister in laws Black B

This is so interesting. I completely get that the skins can vary from nags to bags but having your SIL’s bags consistentky softer and slouchier than yours maybe something else. Would it be possible that she lives in a local that is more humid perhaps? I have always wondered if humidity greatly affects leather appearances and durability.

I think it's really a matter of skins in this case - we live in the same city, I've uploaded a picture for comparison:
Her's is the one with PHW, mine with GHW; you can see how in the front there's some slouchiness going on, the front is slightly sagging inside whereas mine (empty) is standing straight. Both bags were purchased in 2020, mine in January hers in July - what is also funny, is that her's is way softer than mine, if it weren't for the smaller grain you'd say her bag is clemence rather than Togo

wow thanks for the comparison! Comes to think of it my black togo b35 is also from end-of-June and it’s definitely slouchier straight from the box! Can it be from the same batch?!!

..and now that I think about it, my new B30 RE in Clemence is way more structured than my SIL's Togo B30... is Clemence becoming the new Togo in terms of sturdiness??
