My first response was, so someone has worn it before. And?

But it's not about the gown and who has worn it before.

If it were me, I'd be more than a little miffed. Not so much by the fact that someone else has worn it but the fact that someone failed to mention it was worn before.

Maybe she didn't outright lie. Maybe it slipped her mind . . . then again, it was three weeks ago that someone wore this gown. You would think that Nina, as a designer, should be able to keep track of who has worn her pieces and when.

It was a beautiful gown and Sarah Jessica Parker looked gorgeous in it.

nina ricci is the name of the fashion house. olivier theyskens is the current designer. olivier is a "he." i'm a bit of a fashion freak, so just thought i'd put it out there. :flowers:

this has happened before. remember the chanel dress debacle with reese witherspoon at the golden globes a couple years ago. chanel pr assured her it was a vintage dress that no one else had been pictured wearing then the media produced a pic of kirsten dunst wearing the same dress a year earlier right after the event. same thing happened with natalie portman's dress same year and same event. debra messing wore it before her. well, all this explains why fashion pr people don't get paid well. maybe if the fashion conglomerates ponied up more money, they'd try harder.

either way, i agree. sjp still looks beautiful in the dress.

I think SJP has every right to be upset and just because of the simple fact that others wore the dress before her but because she was lied to. How can she have been told it was a never worn dress when TWO others had been photographed in it, one in public and one for a magazine??? Not to mention the fact that the designer himself was photographed with one of them.

It wouldn't surprise me if the fashion house lied to SJP knowing it was a lie just to have the dress at such a huge event. Very unethical, if you ask me.

Except too bad he can't use that excuse since he accompanied socialite Lauren Davis to the event where she first wore the dress just a month ago. This was a low, low thing for him to do. He's supposed to be such a genius, couldn't he have whipped her up an original dress if he wanted in on the action so badly?

Hey! I haven't seen you on here in forever. How are you?

I agree. I think the entire situation is ridiculous. Why is this considered NEWS?!? If this is the worse thing that has happened in her life recently, then I say she's doing pretty good.

If it's just about the gown, I agree with you. It shouldn't be that big of a deal. The bigger issue here is that he lied to her.
