I can totally understand why SJP is upset, its not so much that someone wore the dress its the fact that she was mislead to believe no one had ever worn it. Plus SATC is such a fashion forward movie and everyone knows they would be looking to see what she would be wearing and in this celeb fashion concsious world it does matter if another person has been photographed in the same dress.

I am very impressed with how SJP took the high road and remarked only with poise and grace. I would be totally pissed off! As the article states this was a big night of her professional career. Furthermore, the celebration and crux of the film is all about fashion. I think she is totally correct to feel betrayed by them.

I would be LIVID :cursing: From the facts in this story the designer outright lied to her. To tell her twice the dress had not been worn in public and then a photo surfaces of the designer IN PUBLIC with the dress on someone else 3 weeks earlier !!??!!

I was impressed by SJP reply. She is correct what they did was very short sighted. They dressed the main star of a HUGE event but now who will want to work with them. How bad does this make them look??

i agree. it's the fact that she was misled in believing no one else wore the dress on the red carpet. and furthermore, when she stated the obvious during one of her fittings the fashion house didn't correct her and say, "actually the dress has been worn before."

 ITA.

My first response was, so someone has worn it before. And?

But it's not about the gown and who has worn it before.

If it were me, I'd be more than a little miffed. Not so much by the fact that someone else has worn it but the fact that someone failed to mention it was worn before.

Maybe she didn't outright lie. Maybe it slipped her mind . . . then again, it was three weeks ago that someone wore this gown. You would think that Nina, as a designer, should be able to keep track of who has worn her pieces and when.

It was a beautiful gown and Sarah Jessica Parker looked gorgeous in it.
