Hi, I hav ebeen lurking for a while but I just wantde to step in to this thread. I don't undertand about Silvio Tossi, Mendoza on this thread says that they are 'made in Europe' when they are in fcat made in Turkey. They claim to be a Swiss brand but their adress, VAT number and nank details are german and the 'Manageent' is a Turkish individual.

There doesn't appear to be anyone called Slvio Tossi and no connection to Italy at all even though the brand has a distinct Italian sound. Also, the branding on the website is VERY different to their packaging branding, which is IDENTICAL to Tods, in fact I bought a bag from a private sales site and ONLY when it arrived did i realise that it wasn't Tods, it was that deceptive. In fact my boyfriend was convinced that i had brought Tods until I told him it wasn't Tods. He made this judgement based on the style of packaging and the logo they use, all f which is as close to Tods as possible without actually being Tods.

Many of the bags I have seen on their site are heavily 'influenced' by Louis Vuitton designs and I don't get it. How can they try to create a clone of a European brand in Turkey and sell it into Europe, we have many brand protection laws and they still do this? Is this brand an attempt by the real labels to sell off-price products under a made up name? I would like to ask Mendoza if this is why they havent already been sued? I am asking Mendoza because he/she must be some kind of PR for Silvio Tossi, as Mendoza even knows what machines they use.

I have to laugh a lot, when I read your post :D Where should I start? You spent to much energy in details (packaging, vat (??) etc).

1. I live in Switzerland and the people who lives here know the brand as a swiss brand. You maybe don't know, that Switzerland has 4 official languages: German, French, Italian (!!), and Romanic. So maybe you get the idea, why it has an italian name. The same reason why we speak Italian and we have cities with italian names (lugano, locarno, ticino etc.).

2. I love this brand and I buy it direct from the warehouse in Switzerland where I meet the staff. That's the reason why I know a lot of the brand. And the second reason is, I worked many years in the handbag business for different brands.

3. The production: Yes, the goods are made in Istanbul, on the european side. That's the reason why they can put "Made in Europe". I can imagine, that you never worked in the handbag business. Because then you will know, that Istanbul is a very good place for high-level handbags.

Here you get the link. I think you are this kind of a dreamer who thinks, when you pay 2000 USD for a handbag, that it means you have the best quality. That's wrong my dear. How much do you pay for a Prada? Is it ok, when you pay so much for an in asia produced bag? I know other brands they produce in the same manufacture their handbags and they are much more expansive then a Silvio Tossi handbag. Luxury you can afford is their slogan!

4. Packaging? Sorry, I don't care about that so much....the products are excellent and very nice. More then 400 different handbags to very good prices. Italian leather. Who offers you this? When I'm on www.silviotossi.com I don't see any thing who is similar to TOD's. Give me an example please...

5. You say the styles are similar to Louis Vuitton??? I heard this the first time in my life. Maybe you can give me an example as well....Silvio Tossi has 400 different bags and they are very different to each other. The most famous handbag of them is the model, I put in the attachment. It's an old thread but I stumbled across when I was looking for something else!

The bags are crap! I know because I ordered one and I didn't have the time to return it - so I had to keep it!
Actually I gave it to good will because I don't want to be sern with something like that!

i made an account just to agree with suzydymna and senf.
the whole brand seems like a scam. the designs are just luxury brand rip-offs and they offer HUGE deals (like a 400€ bag on sale for 120€) but when you read the reviews there's a lot of people saying the bags are of very poor quality (different colored zippers on the same bag, cheap fabric on the inside, leather color rubs of on clothes etc.). i whish i had done my research before i ordered a bag from them because it would've saved me the trouble of returning it.
you can't really find anything about this brand except for this thread here which to me seems very suspicious. in fact this whole thread seems like a marketing strategy.

TLDR: poor quality, most likely a rip-off/scam company

I don't think this is a rip off / scam company. They sell bags. If you want a bag, you pay for the bag and get the bag. But I do agree on the poor quality being advertised als luxe and fake sale prices.

Then again, sometimes they really go on sale and if you pay € 40 for a bag, then the quality is on par with the bag.
