black jade- thank you for the info!!

14k is okay for me but 10k i tarnish. i own 24k yellow gold as well but i am going for the white metal look at the moment. I would look into plat but it costs way too much =P

there is only silver bracelet i can wear but i think it is rhodium plated because it never tarnished over the years.

nickle could be a possibility but i do not own anything with it to test. surgical steel ( i wear ear piercing studs in my ears as earrings) is my alternative to gold at the moment and it works just great.

I don't know if this is related to my nickel allergy but I can't wear certain watches either ( my mom is the same way too) I dont know what makes certain watches stop on me but I kill the battery!! its too strange. I've given up on wearing one because I'm afraid the buy a really nice watch and constantly drain the battery!

aww a battery killer? :p you can wear the watch and use it as decoration! it doesnt have to run since your sell phone has time on it :graucho:

I prefer white gold. No issues with that. I just cant go below 14k. *wonders if i am allergic to plat.. *

Platinum is a hypoallergenic metal so I can tell your your not allergic to it =)

And with the price of platinum so low right now its not unreasonable at all to look at platinum as an alternative to silver or gold. You just have to look in the right places because many stores still carry merchandise that was priced when platinum was high and they are unwilling to change the prices.
